PokerStars Complete Uninstall

OK so I have had my account frozen and PS want me to supply ID documents.

I am only allowed to play with play chips anyway so I dont wish to send them any nfo and figured on just creating another account.

Took the following steps.
1. Uninstall PS and remove user.ini and notes files from C:\Users\{user}\Local\Pokerstars
2. Searched Registry & removed references to PS that I could find
3. Reinstall PS
4. Change MAC address
5. Use different IP
6. Go through login process> new name/password/email .... noticed though that the country selection hadnot reset and was showing previously used country.... odd(?)
7. Error Message> ..... According to our records you already have a Stars Account.......

OK so wtf?
How do they figure out I've got another account if I've changed MAC & IP?
Must be something that didn't uninstall?

Does anyone have any idea what I've missed?

I do not have an actual answer, but when I was writing software, I would include a file that had a nondescript name, and nonsense contents. I'm sure they're far more sophisticated these days. It is possible that they are using the volume serial number from your boot drive.

I suggest that you work with PokerStars support to resolve this. It sometimes happens that ISP's give out addresses that appear to be from a neighbouring country.

All that work for play money? Most of my friends don't feel like emptying their Recycle Bin

I always use IObit Uninstaller, seems to get all the junk left after it uninstalls programs. Edited

Thanks — I had not heard of that one — I use Revo Uninstaller, which I assume is similar.
Even that one won't get rid of the "you installed it before" problem.
