Hi, does anyone know of a poker room that is compatible with linux? Looks like there are none. I don't want to play in the browser.

Sadly, one great failing of the internet, is that it is sometimes difficult to tell the age of some articles.

The bad news is that there is no such thing as a native Linux poker client.

None of the sites I know of have a native linux poker client, so I thought I would look.

Is a windows emulator possible in your configuration. If you don't want to play in a browser, that's about all you have left.

If an android client is possible, may rooms have android clients.

Could you use a linux android emulator?

I'm not entirely surprised given how few people are using it.

It's possible, although I do have a windows machine so I will stay with that. Just a bit of annoyance to switch machines!

Thanks anyway

Wait, didn't I reply here? Was my reply deleted?
Was it because I named the room, you are partners with it after all???

Some rooms like JackPoker can run on a browser. You probably can't play that many tables but it's something...

Just about the only reason I still use Windows is for PokerStars and other rooms that may get my reply deleted as well :transpire: I am pretty sure I read somewhere that most rooms can run on Wine but you wouldn't be able to use a HUD which is not that big of a deal since most banned HUDs anyway. It's worth a try at least.

I've seen this happen before. There are threads I post in every day, and sometimes my post from the previous day is missing.
As a mod, I can see hidden posts (they cannot be removed). There are no hidden posts in this thread.

Great question!!!

To mind, I cannot think of any that have a native Linux client. There are several that have their poker software running in your browser, and these will work in Chrome & Firefox, which both have native Linux variants.

If you're Linux box is of a decent spec, then you should be able to run GGPoker & iPoker skins using WINE. I have managed both successfully so far. Although the latter often gives the "suspicious activity detected", asks you to verify that you are human with that silly jigsaw where you need to slide the piece into place. IIRC 888 also works, but haven't tried this in a while since I started playing almost strictly on my Android device.

Good luck! Any questions, feel free to ask and I'll try my best to help.

EDIT: Also, there is a great Android option - actually there are two stable, and one less so - for Linux (and remember, Android is itself a Linux kernel) if you're prepared to use that instead of your favourite distro GUI(s).
