Hi! This video just dropped and I am still watching it, but wanted to post it here as soon as possible.
This is not some thread to shit on GGPoker, I actually quite like the room and am mad that I can't play there. I've even recommended some newer players to try it out. But the word superuser is terrifying and we should talk about it.

I have a large amount of respect for JNandez. He makes some excellent points, the main one is to be alert.
I'm pleased to see that GGPoker has acknowledged the security breach, and has taken steps to rectify it.
The article was apparently written before GGPoker's statement.

Yh GG does not care that much I think (at least way less compared to PS).
GG Appears to have acknowledged this now — at least it appears to from the video.
A public statement would be comforting
I am not expert by any means on security related stuff but even then I were kind of surprised by some technical stuff that seems to be in place on GG software. Main thing being reasoning on sending equity information to client before allin has occurred. Doesn't seem something that is really required at all and would have completely removed issue that occurred here.
Also read somewhere this data would be sent uncrypted which seems like liability as well if true.

When sites began to forbid local retention of hand histories, I didn't like it, since it took away one of the few ways individual players could monitor what was happening. Since then, both of the sites have made it possible to retrieve hand histories.
Like you, I'm surprised that this was possible, since GG seems to have very good software. It is good to know that they're taking action.
A search on youtube for ggpoker cheating shows a few more commentators weighing in on this. Not much new info though.
How come so little attention is given to this incident. Almost no public comments from any prominent players.

Probably due to the timing. At the end of the year, a lot of people are busy.
Once the news reports are out there, there is little new to add.
Today i have a weird moment when i couldn´t see my hole cards 
I was on the BTN and dealt my cards but they just didn´t turn around. Try to click them and that little pop-up show only that i have TT. Was playing omaha. After the play i check the hand history and i had TTxx.
The sad reality is that cheating is virtually no-risk business. The worst thing that can happen to a cheater is that the money on account is lost. When ever that happens (if that happens), cheater has already cashed out a lot of money. Then the account gets banned, and they can make a new one.
The only way to fight cheaters would be to threat them with 0 cashouts. That would require heavy investigation with AI and algorithms for every bigger cashout, and that means it would take 1-3 days for a cashout to be processed. That way cheater might end up with 0 profits, and would definitely make them think twice if it's worth the work.
But that will never happen, as players want quick cashouts. And for sites it really doesn't matter who plays at the tables, as long as someone is playing.

It has been said in several places, "well it could have been worse. If he had not been so blatant, he would not have been caught."
Consider that this person was not acting alone. If that is true, then several others were not caught.
By being so blatant, this person, (let's call him Leroy Jenkins) did us all a favour.

The dude also won a tournament, I guess a good solution would be to pay each player of that tournament a one step higher payout? So that the no.2 gets no.1, no.03 gets no.02 and so on?
And in case that GGPoker couldn't confiscate the entire winnings of the cheater, they should pay it from their own pocket?

I was beginning to think people didn't know about it any more.
There is something in GGPoker's terms and conditions about the steps they take if and when a cheater is discovered.
On a first pass through, though, I didn't see it.
