It's tough to figure out the maximum negative variance at unknown stakes, especially when you don't know the size of your edge/winrate confidently yet.

I am only losing at GGPoker, but winning at Unibet. The average players at Unibet are far worse than the average player at GG. That's why I am mainly playing at Unibet right now ... can't beat the GG players :f_pleased::f_biggrin:.

I am really getting used to the Unibet software now and it's not too bad anymore. Well it is, but for the players you get I'll take it.

There are 'gems' at small sites, i remember i used to tablestart FL 6max HE tables for HU action at 888 (Cassava) and players from casino part joined and lost their $50 in like 30seconds to me, then left.. ♦

Hi, I play mostly nl holdem hyper mtts at GG now. Not really playing cash anymore (for now), but I used to.

I'm orientating where and what to play. No cash games it doesn't suit my character:f_biggrin::f_biggrin:

GG has the best software and by far the most traffic. I don't have a bet365(?) account, so I don't know about them, but it's one of the smaller sites. The smaller sites have very small mtt fields and noticably worse players.

I think to play at GG you need a larger bankroll because the fields are larger. But you can win a lot when you do get lucky that 1 time. With the smaller fields you will win much more often, but less.

But you can mix it up and play at different rooms? Especially when you are not playing cashgames ...

Me myself I am liking the smaller fields now at Unibet. The mtts also don't take as long as at GG. But I still play there as well.

Ok thanks for letting me know, i made an account at bet 365 once i'll play there i will let you know how it is. But i need to work on my strategy first a bit more otherwise i will waist money and that would be stupid.

For now i play that daily giveaway ticket at GG. The spin&gold tickets are too shortstacked to implement real strategy but the battle royale is ok to use these sng charts with more than 12 BB and less than 12 BB all in chart. Played it 3 times and placed second 2 times.

I used to play the battle royales before it was mystery bounty. Back then everybody had a bounty from the start of the tournament, and there was a 3-handed inbetween-round much like a spin and gold.

But now with the mystery bounty, the regular prize money is very little, and the way to win now is to get lucky with mystery bounties. Which means you need a whole lot of volume to make it not based on luck so much ... so I stopped playing them.

The free tickets are nice if you are starting, I still play the spin and golds ... you might hit a big prize :f_biggrin:...

15 years ago i used to play a lot at Full Tilt $3,50 and $7,50 90 man and 45 man sng's Also played a lot of juicy guaranteeds mtt's on FT and some of the smaller pokersites back in the days.

Once the legal problems started at FT they freezed everyone's bankroll and i had to wait 2,5 years before they returned it to everyone. It was taken over by pokerstrategy and at that time i was doing other things in life and i decided to monetize my bankroll. Not before i tried pokerstars out, but i never liked it there. Too many suckouts... imo FullTilts software and randomizer were far more superior. The smaller pokersites were also much better playable.

But since i didn't play for so long i need to do some studying on the theoretical sides of things, so i'll go slow on playing for now.:f_biggrin:

Ahhh the full tilt days ... that's a looong time ago now The good old days when nobody knew anything about poker... Yes, things changed since then ... I don't know how much you still followed developments in poker ....

I think it would be good to choose a smaller site if you start playing because the players are worse (the unibet players remind me of the early partypoker days), and because you play tournaments, variance is much smaller with the smaller fields as well...

Funny, I always preferred the pokerstars software over the full tilt software ... part of it really is what you are used too! I got used to the unibet software now, but when I started it wanted to cash out because of the software and the bad information-design of the lobby, but now I am glad I didn't!!
