A big problem for me on 888 is the (to me) insane length of late registration.

2 hours and 45 minutes?

+1, it's what made me give up on MTTs there a few years ago, which is a pity, because I think their lineup is otherwise pretty good. Also, I will always have a soft spot for 888 because it was my first poker room when I was starting out, and even my only one for over a year.

Ouch! Not a Single Cash Today

and I won't be able to play the next one either, since I'll be driving my daughter to work

Just everything going wrong, and desperation equity all went the other way.

Not even a deep run

I did get at least one good hand though...

Yes, it is true.
Thanksgiving day in Canada is the second Monday in October.

This is one of the earliest public holidays.
The history is here:
https://thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/thanksgiving-day
and more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanksgiving_(Canada)

Big celebration today at Castle Vorpal, so poker is unlikely today — maybe the GGPoker freebie...

Yeah, I get it.
It doesn't really bother me, but it is surprising how often it happens.
If you search through my blog for "Desperation Equity" you'll find lots of hands where I was down to like 1 or 2 BB and just threw it in and won. Those would be tournaments only of course — never in a cash game.

Oh Boo Hoo!

888 has dropped the 5x daily $200 freerolls and the $50 ones as well

Since these started in April, I've gained $39.22 from just those games.

They've brought back Cardstrike though, and in 253 hands of NL 2 I managed to earn $0.82 plus $0.02 in Cardstrike winnings.
$0.82 seems like a total waste of time until you realize that it's 16 BB/100

The daily $500 "winner spinner" that occurs every day at 19hrs UTC has been reduced to $200.
I shouldn't be surprised, though. the $200s and the $50s cost them $1250 each day, so by doing this they save $1550 total.

I wonder how much CardStrike costs them.

I was looking for those freerolls, too. None of them there, only the Winner Spinner!! Has 888 dropped them for good? That would really SUCK!

There will be some new promo coming along.
Currently they've revived CardStrike, which may or may not be worth it.
You have to find 16 cards in 50 hands — so in those hands you see 100 cards.
Today I managed to fill the card in 31 hands and won (wait for it) $0.25! (one big blind).
If you go 50 hands without filling it you get squat.

It is even worse for PLO. You only get 16 hands — so you see 64 cards (or 80 if you're playing PLO5) to fill 16 cards.
When I played PLO8 regularly, I got quite a few successes.

So, let´s wait and see! Oh man, that really SUCKS! Can´t play CG on 888 yet, have only around 18 € and I really do not feel like playing Bingo at the CG-tables! :spit:

I´m sorry, but THAT is a reason to spit in the blog! :rage:

In this case, spitting is indeed acceptable.

However, if you show satellites, a bunch I've never seen before show up.

Ah yeah, these "freebuys" which are not really freerolls but rebuy-tournaments with short starting stacks and hyper-hyper-turbo. Of course they want you to rebuy. No chance if you play ONLY freeroll. Cashed out on 888. At least for the moment. The whole BR is now on Party. I´ll be happy to return as soon as 888 brings the freerolls back.

I understand that.
For me, Party keeps my bankroll in CAD, and every time I enter a tournament or join a table, I pay exchange. So no.
