CO calls UTG with J7o ... only at 888! I would fold the 98 pre oop vs 2 players, but who knows if they play those hands you might have very good implied odds.

I have no idea what GTO says, but I'll see a flop getting 5:1, and I'll call 1/2 pot on the turn since nobody seemed excited about the King on the flop. The turn bet looked like a stab to me.

Re: if they play those hands
This was my competition on two NL 20 tables this past couple of hours.
I'm the 109 hands 13 VPIP guy

A Very Strange Session

I've been very mindful lately of what I call "chasing" — that's where you have a modest hand but lots of draws. I don't want to take crap to showdown

Other players seem to have noticed. Flop and turn aggression seem to carry a lot of weight today.

Note that only 3 out of 172 hands went to showdown. I'm clearly not folding too much, because opponents are doing that instead.

It's only the sixth today, and I've cashed in 4 of the 9 freerolls I've enterred

The last two were top 1% finishes. It almost seems that all the top players have gone elsewhere.

Bizarre Session Graph

Since there has been at least one all-in, I would have expected to see a split in the won-at-showdown and the All-in Equity lines

since there is no such split, can I assume that I had *exactly* the correct equity?

Well, that applies to that hand.
I was all-in on four separate occasions,

On checking, there is the 5♣:5♦: hand, two where opponents folded, and one I lost at showdown but I went all-in on the river, where the equities are already determined, so I guess it makes sense that there is no split.

Hey, not only 888 started with the "shrinkflation" of the prize pool in freeolls. Now PartyPoker joins the party: form 50 $ Gtd. the "Free to play" went to 20 $ Gtd. :f_ugly: :f_ugly: :f_ugly: So sad, because freerolls are actually great promos. For many players, especially absolute beginners, building a BR with freerolls is a great chance to become a reg!

The Perfect Opponent

Who says that you need thousands of hands to learn a player's tendencies?
I should also mention that this is pretty much the perfect flop

The player to my left has 3Bet my every open-raise. Some I folded, but the previous time he 3Bet me, I 4Bet shoved, and he folded.
So this time (snicker snicker) he just flat calls.

Pacific Poker - $0.20 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players

Hero raises to $0.60, CO calls $0.60, fold, fold, fold

Flop: ($1.50, 2 players) A♣:7♣:T♠:
Hero bets $0.75, CO raises to $3.00, Hero raises to $23.77 and is all-in, CO calls $20.77 <<< bad players can sometimes get good hands, but I'm fairly confident with top two pair.

Turn: ($49.04, 2 players) 5♦:

River: ($49.04, 2 players) 3♥:

Hero shows A♥:T♦: (Two Pair, Aces and Tens)

CO shows A♦:7♦: (Two Pair, Aces and Sevens) <<< man, it sucks to be him sometimes
(Pre 32%, Flop 9%, Turn 5%)

I thought perhaps that this player had played me before and was exploiting my fairly high fold-to-3Bet preflop (75%), but on checking, I find that this is the first time I've ever encountered him.

I Has Taken a Long Time

I got mad at 888 a few years ago, and removed almost everything from there.

Since then I just played freerolls, until they removed them a couple of weeks ago
So I started playing NL 20 6-max regular tables, and today I finally broke $1,000

So I'll just enjoy this for a while.
I might withdraw half of it, but I haven't decided yet.
Here is my giraffe for the entire year, hold'em only.
I think that the key — at least on 888 — is to avoid showdown as much as possible.
