Hell day! Totally gaga!

Went for the GREAT MONSTER BLUFF - oopsie, and there went my stack! :facepalm::f_ugly: Took a small amount from the "evil black knight" (fellow-reg) who called me a "calling station", berated me and went on tilt. Hit two pair with A8s against his AK and I got berated. WTF? This is "Hello again" fellow reg. If he´s not tilt resistant than he shouldn´t play CG! Goodness me!

I had to be tilt-resistant today because it was one of those so called "CG-hell-days" where nothing works out, no matter what you do. You miss the flop totally, completely, but you got 3 "calling stations" with you in the pot. You raise with JJ, QQ, TT and there are "always" overcards on the flop and at least two Villains called you pre. And you get tons and tons of junk. Well, those are the days in "CG-hell".

There´s the advice to quit those sessions early and I think that´s a great advice. Did quit after 1,5 hours with 2 stacks down, while I bluffed one of them away (so: my fault, but wanted to try it out!).

As this here is an honest blog, I have to honestly admit, that I wasn´t in a great mood. If I´m really honest to myself, I have to admit that I was playing sloppy today. I was cutting corners.

The "post competition blues"?!!

Haven´t heard of THAT ONE before. Shame on me. Did a little research (ok, Google Gemini helped a bit) because I´ve been terribly hungry and in a pretty stinky mood for about 2 days now. On Saturday, I played my last winter competetion in tennis (women´s singles 50 plus), which was a 3 hour-"massacre". You can read about my single´s match here.

After that, I was completely exhausted, I was "dead"! I had given everything, I had squeezed everything out of my body and my mind! And yesterday evening, as you can see in my post above, I had already my next tennis practice!

So, after having squeezed out every bit of energy I had, my body and mind are completely down. Like a car without even a single teeny tiny droplet of fuel! All gone! This is important to know because this is an important STOP sign for the CG-tables! The hunger, the stinky mood, the depletion of any energy is not exactly a good foundation for solid CG!

Ok, good to know: Next time I´ll take a longer break after a tennis competition.

No spectacular hand otherwise, but two "nitty" Villains who we could relentlessly put under pressure by 3-betting and barrelling flop, turn and river! So, lot of double and triple barrells today. At least something. That was pretty much, after lots of "second best hands", the "session saver" and we ended up break-evenish with +1 €. :f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly:

Another day in statistics-hell!

Guess that was the worst session of my "CG career" so far. 99,9 % of the flops missed, while of course fun-players hit like world champions! Lost with a full house again, by getting rivered. In between the missed flops of course tons and tons and tons of junk hands, while 84o and 72o were my unwanted VIP guests who didn´t wanna leave me alone. :f_biggrin::f_ugly:

Ok, let´s make it short: "bad luck" today, or rather: just statistics!

Good that I had a statistics course last year! It helps me to understand probabilities, variance and the law of large numbers (sample size). Well, altogether it helps me a lot at the poker tables, because I understand statistics. Was quite annoying but bad luck doesn´t last, while skill does.

Long story short: 3,5 stacks down!

This hasn´t been a great CG-week but tomorrow there won´t be any poker! Gonna meet up with my friend Harrier88 and we´re going to have a good time with good food, good drinks, some swimming and lot´s of fun-gaming! Will probably play tournament poker at the weekend. Playing another variant clears your mind and lifts up your spirit.

A relaxed fun-session

Funny, I thought about playing two tables NL5 and two tables NL2, just to take bit pressure away, but lucky me: There was no NL5 table free when I was playing today after work! But the best: Two PLO2-tables instead!!!! Exactly what I needed!!! Another variant as distraction, which I could play with a fresh mind (normally you can be glad to get to a PLO2 table on PartyPoker!). So, no pressure, easy going and fun-playing!

And even though there were still quite a few unlucky hands.....

After poor Sonny (Roomba 105 combo, i Robot) got kicked out of our WiFi-net, he´s back. I desperately tried to fix that problem, asked AI (Chat GPT) what the heck I should do, eventually, we found out, that the troll of the day had given me the wrong WiFi-password! :f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly:

we bought "Sonny" for HALF the regular price. He was on SALE! And we need to connect him to the WiFi, otherwise we cannot communicate with him (tell him what to clean and how).

@Taavi: CG is swingy, well, poker itself is swingy. Recommended are 3.000 - 7.500 Big Blinds BRM for a certain level (or at least 50 stacks).

PLO saves the day!

Still running horribly in Holdem, so decided to focus a bit more on PLO, just for distraction and a bit more fun-factor. Still only "second best hands" no matter what I hold: top pair, full house, a set, my hand is already or turns into the second best hand after turn and/or river. I think I don´t have to mention that, again, I was at the dark side of variance with AA (those 20 %) and lost to 33 (random str8)? Besides, the pattern is always the same at the moment: They hit, we completely miss. So: FOLD!

Besides that, just junk hands and completely missed flops. So, had enough of that! And decided to look for good PLO tables, while I preferred to play PLO5 instead of NL2 or NL5! Didn´t do lot of reading for PLO yet, but at least I got some basic knowledge and in PLO2 and PLO5 all you gotta do is wait patiently for a solid hand and then let the fun-players pay! They are VERY happy to call (almost) anything. VERY call-happy people there!

Let´s capture those rare moments

There´s nothing but minimizing losses at the moment and trying to have as much fun as possible. This week, we´re dancing around break-evenish so far.

"Stuffing the hole ..."

....in my BR which is caused by some fun-players hitting their gutshots and other wonder-lucky-miracle cards on the river against me. Somehow, I managed today and yesterday to pick up small pots, enough to keep my BR "in balance" (or so). Today, AA held and yesterday the "evil black knight" (=fellow-reg) jammend his JJ into my AA (and my AA held). So, that "compensated" for those 20-30 % where my two pair (aces up) or set got rivered by some wonder-miracle card.

Long story short: We´re pretty much exactly break-even in CG this week!

And as the "evil black knight" keeps on berating me in the chat, I just turned off the chat-function on Partypoker and that´s it! We´re good!

I had a terribly difficult time reading that without seeing all the double meanings.

Pretty break-evenish last week

A frustrating session and a break

Let´s be honest, guys: Constantly getting rivered, completely missing flops, missing draws and getting just junk is not fun! Not at all. And when we finally flop the nuts, they´re getting destroyed on the river:

Played this weekend some Spins for the first time and they were really big fun, but also there, AA, KK, QQ doesn´t hold (KK < 83s for example), in both, PLO and NL Holdem we completely miss the flop in 99 % of the times, and if we hit, it´s just the second best hand. In PLO we mostly completely miss! It´s not fun anymore. And it´s getting to my mood! That´s why I decided to take a break from poker this week. I just have enough and my mood and motivation are suffering. Today, we´re again 2 stacks down. Enough (loosing) is enough!

The plan is to take a break this week and mentally recover. At the weekend, we will focus on other formats (Spins, MTTs, freerolls) and next week we will take a fresh start and move down to NL2. We still got enough BR for NL5, but on NL2 we can play a bit more relaxed and take it very light and easy - until this horror is over.
