Well the good news is that I collected the rest of the points I needed to collect. The rest is well meeh. The last session on Mansion ran as usual Mansion sessions have run this month and I had a record amount of money lost per hands. Most was due to coolers, setups, not running well and perhaps partially not being concentrated enough (around 200 hands into the session I was already hellbent about and relieved about never having to play at Mansion again)

Will probably cash out during the course of week- purchase my stuff from the Mansion store and move on to another site (thinking about Everest / Ladbrokes / PokerHeaven)

The resume for the month and my 3 months at Mansion will follow in the next few days - and hopefully be quite comprehensive :) I can already see that my 600$ drop in the last 700 hands is hurtful

October is over!!

And wow was it a bad ending. It was my second month of not exactly running good, but thats something I just have to live with :) At least I have around 900$ in sklansky money saved up for my future run-good sessions.

There isn't much to say about the month itself - I didn't put in a lot of volume and wasn't particularly motivated to play. At the end all I really wanted to do was cashout from Mansion and start fresh. I did record 776$ in profits in addition to the successfully cleared Elite status at Mansion so I have no reason to be upset about the overall results.

Coming up now is a 3 month recap with some new perspectives!

The first 3 Month Recap

3 Months have passed since I first decided to take up the challenge of playing NL50 and moving up to NL100. Looking back I can say I have learned a lot over those 3 months and come a long way. Not only have I improved in terms of technical skills but have also had my mental aspects put to the test quite a few times. Although I don't really tilt at the tables - I do think that I am often still much too emotional when I run bad over long periods of time - and this is definitely something I still need to work on.

Goals that I had:
Maintain Elite Status(20k) MCP: Achieved over 3 months! ;D
Reach NL100: Achieved, even with a positive WR ;)
Continue to work on game and blog: Achieved - although I have been slacking lately

Recap and stats

In addition to the money won directly through playing I got myself from the Mansion shop:
PS3 250gb + 4 Games
Xbox360 Wireless Bridge + 12 Months Xbox Live Membership
Germany Football Jersey
and approx $1000 from cleared bonuses / races

All that together means I am really quite happy with the results. _cool:

Next Steps

My next steps are cashing out from Mansion and moving my Bankroll to other sites and to cash some out to store offline (probably in a savings account). That way I don't have too large sums lying around moneybookers and can let the money do some work instead of simply lying around unused.

I will probably head to Ladbrokes, Everest and PokerHeaven or play with my Party Poker / PokerStars bankrolls. On Ladbrokes I would play NL50€ upwards and on the dollar sites I will stick to NL100. I will also try to get some more live play in at the Gibraltar casino since they have cashgames as of 8 pm 3 times a week now

Since I still need to evaluate the amount of work / time I have for poker in the next weeks and also need to see how long the transfers and withdrawals take I will wait with my "Goals for the next 3 months" post until everything is set and ready.

Thanks to everyone who has been reading the blog and see you at the tables! :f_p:

Ty Strongsl :)

Do you mean the iPoker or Ladbrokes field? I think iPoker is not really a problem. Most regs are on the passive side and play quite straight forward. There are still plenty of fish and its not bad to play at.

I have only played a short session at Ladbrokes - but not NL100 yet. Its really fishy so far and I look forward to putting in my first few "serious" sessions. I already checked the numbers and I need to decide on either a 1,5k$ rake target or a 3,5k$ rake target. Either way I get 60% rakeback + our Rake Race - and depending on how this first weekend goes - I might actually try to hit Diamond this month ;)

What kind of loyality program is there at Ladbrokes? How you get up to 60% rakeback? Curious, might switch platforms:)

The loyalty program in itself is simply up to 30% - but since I am clearing the $1000 first deposit bonus it is more than that this month ;)

Hehe np, I actually met you at the NL50 or NL100 tables at iPoker once - but we didn't really get involved in any big pots :)

From Downswing into Real Downswing

It seems the Ladbrokes challenge will fail in its first few hours. With my girlfriend out of town for the weekend I had planned a "Poker Lockdown" with plenty of grinding and at least 15k hands - in order to attack the Ladbrokes FDB.

Although I had already played a few breakeven sessions on the previous days - the real grinding began 1;30 hours ago. Since I only had 350€ on MB while waiting for the Mansion withdrawal, I played a mix of NL20 and NL50.

200€ under EV and 1:30 hours later I'm pretty much broke on Ladbrokes. One 2 outer and setup after the other and I was quickly 200 down. I moved to NL20 to be able to keep on playing - and had awesome hands such as re-raising second pair + FD + gutshot on a coordinated board, being shoved on by K6o highcard king, and losing to his river king.

Currently at 40€ and dropping. If my Mansion withdrawal doesn't arrive on MB by today sometime I'll probably call off any type of serious playing this month as I'm already pissed off enough about not being able to play on my first free weekend in months :(

Never Give Up

I actually wrote the above entry while still playing - and with 2 tables of NL20 still open I started my comeback. I was quite frustrated over the entire thing but still playing well enough to beat NL20 - and simply didn't want to call it a day yet. So after an hour or so I managed to recover back to 4 tabling and a bit later even to 5 tabling. After reaching a 120€ bankroll again I took a break to cool the brain and relax. The break lasted longer than I originally planned since I wasn't motivated again for quite a while - but finally at 11:30 I hit the tables again.

So I opened 4 NL20 tables and increased it to 6 after a good start. The session was quite sick and I was running well and had tables full of fish. Within 1089 hands I won 7 stacks and managed to nearly recover the NL50 losses. This is of course nice - but also kind frustrating since in reality I had been wanting to play NL50 or NL100 - where such a session would feel a lot better :)

Overall for the month at Ladbrokes I'm down 6,5 stacks at NL50€ in 650 hands (!!!!) but up 13,5 stacks at NL20€ over 4k hands. That means I'm not quite break-even- but also only down an NL50 stack. Looking forward to getting the money on MB so that I can more comfortably recover those NL50 losses and then head to NL100

Pulling an All Nighter and Lessons in Tilt Control

Swongs. Lots of swongs. That bests describes yesterday, or rather the morning period from yesterday to around 8:20 AM this morning - when I finally closed the tables.

Most of the previous day can be gathered from my above two posts - but just to summarize:

- Started the day with the 350€ I had on Ladbrokes and playing NL50 --> dropped down to near busto
- Recovered by playing 2 NL20 tables back up to over 11 stacks up
- Took another break to eat and refresh (2:00 am)
- Decided to play NL50 again with full concentration and table selection

That is where the story left off. In good spirits I decided to find myself some fish on the tables and to play comfortable tight aggressive position poker against them and to put in some remaining volume. Main reason was that I wasn't really tired yet and still feeling that I was playing my A game.

The session was going well, with me winning lots of small pots and chipping up nicely. Then it happenes again. In quick succession I have two hands vs the same player who I have been sitting IP against and waiting to catch. He is 68/38 and a Maniac. He loves bluffing and shoving his money into the middle postflop. I therefore take quite passive lines against him since its the most +EV imo.

Play hand

Preflop: Hero is CO with A:s, K:c.
UTG calls $0.50, 4 folds, MP3 raises to $5.00, Hero calls $5.00, 4 folds.

Flop: ($11.25) T:c, 5:c, A:d (2 players)
MP3 bets $11.00, Hero calls $11.00.

Turn: ($33.25) 9:s (2 players)
MP3 bets $39.50(All-In), Hero calls $34.43(All-In).

River: ($107.18) J:s (0 players)
Hero gets uncalled bet back.

MP3 shows two pairs, jacks and tens(T:h J:d).
Hero shows a pair of aces(A:s K:c).

MP3 wins with two pairs, jacks and tens(T:h J:d).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Play hand

Preflop: Hero is UTG2 with Q:d, Q:s.
Hero raises to $1.75, 4 folds, BU calls $1.75, SB folds, BB calls $1.25.

Flop: ($5.5) 4:h, T:d, 3:h (3 players)
BB bets $5.50, Hero calls $5.50, BU folds.

Turn: ($16.5) 4:d (2 players)
BB bets $16.50, Hero raises to $42.75(All-In), BB calls $26.25.

River: ($102) 2:c (0 players)
BB gets uncalled bet back.

BB shows a straight, five high(A:s 5:c).
Hero shows two pairs, queens and fours(Q:d Q:s).

BB wins with a straight, five high(A:s 5:c).

Twice I get him with 85% equity, twice I lose and just like that I was suddenly down again. At this point in time I really needed to pull myself together in order not to start tilting. Due to the large amount of fish that I had found I didn't want to simply get up - but obviously NL50 Ladbrokes was starting to get to me. After all I was running over 5 stacks under EV at this point in time (close to 6 stacks even).

I therefore opened up a Red Bull at 5:30 in the morning - and decided to battle it out. Although I didn't win any of my money back from the Maniac (even though I was later on sitting IP from him with nearly 300 BB effective stacks) I did manage to have some of my other hands hold and to recover the losses + more.

The positive aspect was of course being able to listen to the WSOP Final table on the side - since I had reduced the volume to just 2 tables at the end.

Here my month on NL50€ at Ladbrokes so far

Total Graph NL20€ + NL50€ yesterday (you can figure out the NL50 stretches by looking at the EV ;D)

Suffice to say: I think the volume goal of 3,5k$ rake in 45 days is still reachable - but I'm not sure if I will or even want to make it. It will certainly require NL100 and a lot of NL50 sessions. Good that I still have the entire month to decide ;)

Nice wee blog sir soy, hows it going?
Have u played any more sessions since your last post with that maniacal luckbox  heheh
Also, what network is ladbrokes? Is there plenty of traffic? I'm too lazy to look it up myself :f_p:

seeing as you play on ipoker... do you use a HEM hud ? I cant seem to figure out how to configure mine, it always blocks name, stacksize or cards :/
