before isolating I usually like to know more about villain stat-wise, like his limp, limp/fold, donkbet, fold2c-bet, aggression, because some loose villains aren't profitable to isolate against.

However, 77 is strong enough hand to raise anyway. On the flop I don't see another way to play this hand as you did, because villain's donking range will consist of very strong draws and Qx hands and against this range you have very poor equity as you are dead against Qx and have a flip against FD + OCs or OESD + OCs. Calling is no option here imo, because you don't protect against a draw that way and you get no important information about villain's hand. A raise is bad as well, because if you decide to raise his donkbet you commit your whole double stack and with such a marginal hand that's a no go. So, fold is the best decision.
