I can't top registering a feotus for TAF money. I've thought long and hard about it, but that wins. :f_p:

You can relax now, the happy pixie has flown away and normal programming has resumed. Using it's unique ironic sense of humour, variance has gone south for me in my first really long session this year. It's easy to add 1 and 1 and end up with 42, but the truth is the suckout merchants hit bigtime for a lot of my session.

I pretty solidly passive tilted for about 40mins too which didn't help much (ie I stopped trying to put the 85/22 "hit every board for a monster" and his happy 54/15 calling machine friend on hands), but it probably ended up saving me money - as the calls/raises I should have been making would all have ended up costing me multiple bets.

Still, not a major BR killer and probably good for me to get some of the drug that is +ve variance out of the system. I felt like this blog was losing some of its emo cred anyway so a post like this was about due. :f_p:

Hello Waiboy,
Once again i would like some info about bonus, this time at ipoker. Because from today the ipoker network is opened for Estonian players. So FDB, can you say how many hands does it take to clear it at FL SH 0.5/1

Hey VonSiim

It depends on which skin you are playing on - Titan, Mansion, Bet365, BetFred all have different rake calcs AFAIK. Plus they've changed the way they calculate rake from dealt to contributed (I think?) so I don't think I can give you any useful info.

I was paying around 3.8 BB/100 in rake at $.50/$1 on Mansion (mostly at $.50/$1), but I'm not sure what it is currently like.. I would guess all of the iPoker sites would rake pretty similarly.

The best way to chose between them is on the VIP program (maximise return whilst clearing the bonus). I would guess Titan is still best at lower volumes/limits but I'm not really sure anymore.

Oh, and if I had it all over again, I wouldn't play at iPoker once I'd cleared the FDB's. It just isn't worth the monster rake and horrendously tight play between $.25/$.50 and $1/$2 SH limits (often $2/$4 was looser).

It's "network's" rake, so it doesn't matter on which skin you play. They all have the same rake.
I wouldn't play on iPoker if I were you VonSiim. But if you must, then choose Titan for sure.

I agree with CoreySteel, Im on Titan and the recent changes to rake from all pot sizes to pots where you contributed money has made earning points a whole lots slower.

I havent tried others but my friends seem to have a had a much easier time of it on PartyPoker. Im not recommending that, just saying, you might want to look carefully before choosing a site.

Sorry, what I should have said was bonus cleared/rake paid which I presume will vary per site. Ofc rake is the same - I gotta take milder hallucinogens before posting in the future. :f_ugly:

And as I understand it PP = iPoker in terms of tightness of the games at micro/low limits. Which sucks! Not sure how the VIP system compwres to, say, Titan though.

BTW CS, damn nice to hear your voice.:f_love:

Just to be clear first... We are talking FL here, right? :)
Rake is killing. That's it. iPoker is OK for FL, because traffic is quite OK. But PokerStars and Full Tilt are WAY better.

Last month or two of my poker "career" I played FL HU.
On Titan I was paying about 7-7,5BB/100 rake. On FTP, rake is ~2BB.
On Titan I was down 600$ or so. If I were playing on FTP, I'd be up like 400$ + rakeback :)

I know it's a specific case, but it doesn't differ much from whole FL.
But don't get me wrong. You CAN make iPoker very profitable.
FDB, VIP points, StrategyPoints here on PS, TOP100 promotion, etc...

Waiboy: I should have known that you knew that rake is the same :P
Nice hearing that you are doing OK, too ;)

Yeah, if you're playing at high rake sites (basically, any site not FT or PS), you do have to pay some attention to the RB (= points) system, as it makes a significant part of your WR in FL, especially at the low-but-not-micro limits.

To back that up, I'm now playing at FT untracked purely because low rake + rakeback = win.

I intend to use FT as my main site, and grind bonuses at other sites as a backup (if/when I can play $2/$4+).

Last night I staggered to 5th in the Titan World Series event - only 10 entrants so a meh placing (no cash) but a great result as if that trend continues playing off in the 200 player (5 seats guaranteed) main event series is almost fait accompli!

I played three or four satties to the 1/4 mill (the $2+$.20 36 man SnGs - 6 seats + $6 for 7th) cause it should be easy and beats paying $11. Should be easy, but I suck so not so easy!!! ICM trainer FTW. :f_thumbsup:

Well, today was my first proper MTT session day (6:45 - 14:50). I played both the early doubles on FTP, the Daily Double rebuy as well as a $5+$.50 on iPoker. Busted on all OOtM, approx 50 - 30% of players left, bar the DD B event where I cashed 15th for $75. It was an okay result, but all I cared about was the final table. For some reason whenever I play these tourneys I end up with a monster stack played by an loose, all-in freak on my immediate right every time - which makes stealing a creative exercise at best. :f_eek:

I must say I enjoy these long runs in MTTs. I continue to be (semi) motivated to improve my NL MTT game to hopefully make a deep run in a big tourney sometime this year! Dreams is free, aye. _cool:

FLHE on iPoker isn't right. In any repect. It's wrong; completely, utterly broken.

I need some strategy points 'cause I want to watch opabumi's new series, which looks pretty decent, so I have been dabbling at iPoker recently to get some SP's. In the evenings (proper time) there has been some traffic and okay tables so I've managed to get a small amount of play in.

I know that in the mornings (again, using paradise time) the European rake grinders make iPoker a horrible place of pain, torture and variance. But it's been a couple of months, maybe things have changed?

NOPE.

If I want a loose game, I'd be better playing FTP $5/$T tables than iPoker $.50/$1 tables. When I first checked all six FTP $5/$T SH tables were looser than the loosest iPoker $.50/$1 SH table at around 38% players to the flop.

Something is seriously wrong with anyone playing FLSH at micro/low limits on iPoker during European peak times. From my short observation this morning, the play doesn't really seem to loosen up at all until $2/$4 - $3/$6, and even then, why would you?

iPoker has essentially recruited a legion of rakeback grinding regs playing anywhere between $.25/$.50 and $1/$2 SH. The descend, not like sharks, but like piranha on anything looking even remotely like a loose table. The fishes get torn apart in seconds and all that is left is a bunch of piranha looking for weakness in their bretheren. I was one of them for too long - although I at least had the option of being selective about which tables I continued on. I fear that most of these guys are living off the rakeback they generate and so have no option.

If you're starting out at FR FLHE, iPoker at the micros is about as good a place to start out at as anywhere else. But once you start to look at moving beyond $.25/$.50 FR look around for just about anywhere else.

So, to anyone reading this considering micro/low limit FLHE during European evenings with iPoker as your main site, RUN AWAY AND NEVER COME BACK (voice inside your head using best Gollum mimicry available)!!! I doubt even clearing deposit bonuses make this a worthwhile investment of your time.

:f_confused: out.

Spot on. I needed 3500 more titan points to get my 150$ bonus from their store. After some playing I need 400 more points now and I fully regret reloading at Titan. I'm clearing a redeposit bonus at the same time but it barely makes a difference.

I table select between titan, FTP and Pokerstars now and 90% of the time I do a scan, an ipoker tables doesn't even show up in the top 20.

I'll leave this site for good in a few days. Looking forward to it.

Are you playing $2/$4+ at Titan? It always looked to be slightly better for table selecting at that level, but never having made it that high I don't have first hand knowledge.
