I've played (and still play) $1/2-$2/4 on IPoker (Mansion) in the weekends (double points) the last 4 months. Comparing it to PartyPoker I didn't really find much difference on the $2/4 limit. The $1/2 seemed a bit tighter (more comparable with the $2/4 limit) than on PartyPoker, but I suppose that might also be caused by playing at the Double Points times - I'm fairly sure more good players play around that time.

Just like at PartyPoker there are times that there are more TAGs / LAGs, but there are also some times that you can find 2 fishes per table. Also keep an eye open for EUR/GBP tables - even though you might pay more rake there, it regularly has very fishy tables as well.

Oh yeah, I was also sucked in by promos and then dedicated myself to play there for 6 months. Only one and a half month left luckily. I personally dislike the IPoker software most though, because I can't multitable more than 4 tables well with it (and ofcourse it doesn't offer that much more tables to multitable well either), plus it has no timebank system.

From 1/2 to 3/6. I don't really notice a difference in the amount of fish per limit.

Is there anywhere other than FTP and Stars where the rake doesn't suck at $.50/$1 - $2/$4?

I know bwin was pretty comparable - I just assume that they're all pretty bad other than the big two.

If there is any site, there are no FL players probably, so no :)
There are almost no FL tables at ongame. One or two for each middle limit. Usually even less.

Titan is really the best choice for iPoker. But you have to hit +35k Titan points each month - being Diamond level - and that's about 60% rakeback at 3/6 FL SH.

OR

You have to play untracked and find a site which can give you 40-50% VIP Bonuses on iPoker.

Short update.

MTT day was average - lots played, no cashes, resolving to become less and less of an MTT fish.

FL study has slowed in pace, but I'm Silver now so I will immediately add the opabumbi silver "Climbing the Limits" vids into the program and pwn hard.

$40 left to clear of my FTP deposit bonus, then I'll get at least $50 from the FTP bonus, er, bonus - yay!

I've got a little more play on Mansion to clear Club status, hopefully be able to spend my points on something horribly frivolous and go back to a subsistance br for random MTTs and suchlike.

Next month I'm looking for a new bonus whoring site... I'll try to maintain my play on FTP for at least Gold iron man status (which is relatively easy at around 1.5hours 2 tabling $1/$2 SH). So I'm considering 888 because I figure I'll be able to clear a portion of the bonus at least. Other contenders are Everest due to smallish bonus (so not so tempting to uber grind) and PokerHeaven (bonus + rakeback + 4SPs per Euro1 raked!). :f_love:

I am not playing iPoker for at least a year so BetFred/Bet365 are both out. I considered Europoker as I've played bwin and don't mind the software but might just save this one, and I think I'll leave Cake alone for a bit because it seems like they've got some sucky software issues atm. :f_cry:

CS, I found bwin provided enough tables most of the time to get okay volume in, I was able to two table a lot of the time (and they were pretty loose tables to) - although I'm worried about the bwin only tables - if this applies to Euro Poker then it would be pretty slim pickings

Oh, and I'm a solid $1/$2SH reg (BRM wise anyway), occassionally shotting $2/$4FR tables where they are looosey with a slightly more conservative BRM than the 300BB.

:f_confused: out.

Nostalgia post heading FTW!

Not strictly speaking as accurate a header as it would have been an hour ago.. I finally managed to anti-doomswitch myself for a session which made an excellent change! :f_thumbsup:

I have to stand behind my earlier comments regarding iPoker though. It doesn't matter what time of the day it is, basically every session is either waiting a month for the one okay table to clear up a seat - then hoping like hell you are sitting in position on the weak players rather than the three TAG regs - or no game worth playing. :f_mad:

Still, there are weak players around, and when they aren't sucking out every hand it is an okay place to play. I just can't wait to finally extricate myself from any sort of significant volume here!

FTP continues to be a happy place. Always a loosish game whenever the mood takes me, rakeback - wow - did I mention I  rakeback? 'cause I really    rakeback! At current 2 tabling $1/$2 SH I make in excess of $US 2/hr! :f_eek: I know!

I could insta (or faster!) double my poker income by 4 tabling - then I'm RIIIICCCCHHHH and would need to buy bling!!!! :f_p: (WAIBOY "Devilfish" stylz ring FTW).

AND my FDB should be cleared by the weekend - hope I get a $100 "Fast 50" bonus.. that'd be choice. Ofc, anything = :f_love:

opabumbi's "Climbing the Stakes" part I vid was absolutely essential viewing for okay $.50/$1 + regs looking to plug some leaks/improve WR through reviewing lines IMO. Part II suffered a wee bit for being a live vid and lacking awesome title sequence. A structured HH review would have been a much better follow up. Still, if you haven't already, get into it you low stakes FL legends!

You get 2$/hr because rake is so "big" playing FL
But yeah, I agree. It's nice having rakeback at FTP :)

I won't get my "fast 50$" bonus, cuz I still have FDB to clear. And I wont clear it untill end of March (whole 600$ package).

@ gape0000: Yeah, Santa owed me big time for the year before. :f_mad: :f_p:

I definitely make money making more intelligent 2nd/3rd barrels, flop folds and adjusting to extreme player types better, I'm DEFINITELY running better than my last foray into $1$/2 and I'm saving $$$ playing at FTP with RB and deposit bonus v iPoker w/giant rake and million hand requirement bonus clearing. :f_cool:

Oh, and I've started picking pure bluff spots (other than the obligatory HU flop donk from BB in unraised pots) which is definitely making me $$$ in the right spots. :f_love:

Hopefully another 3-4 months of work and I might actually have some clues finally! :f_eek:

So clearly I've just finished my first ever Rush Poker (Patent Pending) grind for points on FTP. I only (mostly) three tabled on the FR tables and for only an hour, but that was enough.

Maintaining concentration wasn't too bad to begin with, but toward the end I found it requires extra discipline to ensure I wasn't instafolding where there are potential playable situations.

Just as a marker for future reference:

Session: 55mins
Limit: $0.50/$1 FR
MT ratio: ~2.7 (est)
Hands: 537
FT Points: 111

I figure with a bit of practice, and slightly less effort being put into note taking, something in the order of 600+ hands an hour is achievable.

Has anyone tried multitabling the SH tables? I'm nowhere near brave enough especially given the $1/$2 limit... I think one tabling would be more than enough.

I finished my Mansion Club status grind this morning needing 330 MCPs to clear the 1k mark I needed. Hence my decision to trial a desperation Rush Poker grind. I have to say I prefer the more reads based style game that normal poker provides, but I think I need to expose myself (ooer) to Rush a little more - maybe a session or two (or addon session) a week.

AND is there anyone out there playing FL $.50/$1 - $2/$4 SH (or FR if it exists there, although I know it's extremely unlikely) at a site other than:

Stars, Full Tilt, Party Poker, iPoker, bwin?

I am in a whoring frame of mind for March on a second site (playing primarily at FTP) and wouldn't mind if any of you grinders out there had infos about the FL in the wild west. In absence of any feedback I'm gonna try for 888.com even though the software sounds like it sucks things that many of us just wouldn't wanna suck. :f_o:

February review to come in the next day or two. *SPOILER ALERT* Two months of FLSH love is in the air! :f_love: :f_love: :f_love:

Oh, and did I mention I  rakeback and low rake?

Okay, garph to come... will post it here tho as there's nothing too revolutionary about it (well, it trends upward which, to be fair, is pretty revolutionary for one of my garphs, but not under normal conditions!).

Word. :f_cool:

To the garphs, Batboy!

$.50/$1 - $1/$2 SH @ FTP

All play @ FTP

Stats and stuff @ FTP

So there it is, a winning month (which actually makes two in a row, although Jan was 1/2 the volume of this).

Notable stuff:

:spade: Missing a couple of thousand of Mansion hands at $.25/$.50 SH/FR. Ended $5 down for the month, with a $10 bonus to make it b/e more or less. Which is a win as far as I'm concerned given the horrendous rake!

:spade: Results are skewed by a short winning session at $2/$4 FR for an $88 boost. Clearly an outlier in the results, but I'm not giving the money back. :f_eek:

:spade: VPIP/PFR on SH play is pretty much the same as before. I'm definitely missing some isolation spots (ofc when I do loosely iso raise I get cc or 3 bet by the blinds 99% of the time so I'm scared obv). After watching the opabumbi vid I think I won't change things drastically due to the rake considerations at low limits... if I make $3/$6 I'll be loosening up there. Well, untill I change my mind for whatever reason obv!

 Study for the month started awesomely, tailed off toward the end of the month. I've finished an initial read through of all the gold/platinum FL articles, now I need to go back and LEARN the stuff I'm now aware of. I still watched 10 - 15 hours of videos for the month and read 20 odd articles, so proabably some sort of record. :f_love:

 Made my second ever withdrawl of funds for spending on 'stuff'. That's twice in three months - I feel like a total baller.:f_love:

It makes me more vulnerable to moving back to $.50/$1 ofc, but that doesn't bother this new age FL player. If I'm good enough, eventually I'll get to $5/$T - if I'm not I won't. In the meantime I have CASH!!!

Get ready titties. :f_eek:

 I've finished playing FL on iPoker FOREVER!!! Well, at least the next 6 months or so.. I'll only go back if the UIGEA is repealed and iPoker can start sucking in a ton of new and terrible Americanos. Cash is jetting through the Interweb as I type - assuming Mansion authorise the release of a massive $108. :f_rolleyes:

I've frivoulously spent my MCPs on some EPT branded playing cards - it said they cost 34k MCPs but in the checkout on the website it said 6k? Whatever, if the 6k is correct I'll blow the balance on tourney tickets. Technically the tourney tickets were massively more valueable than the cards (I could get around $60-$70 worth of tourney entries - which makes those some freaking expensive playing cards!), but didn't wanna burn the points for no value as a MTT fish. I want something tactile for my time - and yes, cash is tactile once withdrawn... meh, I don't expect anyone to understand, suffice it to say the cards will provide me with  .

Figure that just about covers the main points - oh, I guess I made Gold Ironman status and got $100 Fast 50 bonus - which is nice! One more month of Gold and I think I can get the $100 Ironman store bonus. W00t.

So WR for the month + $100RB + balance of FDB (approx $200 or so) made this a solid month. YAY!

Okay, a separate post for the March poker focus:

Study goals

:diamond: Understand the Gold advanced standard lines article.

:diamond: Understand the equity/fold equity I have in BB defense situations v BU/CO ranges to make better flop and turn plays on different board textures.

:diamond: Complete a second series of vids on DC, watch some Stox vids on BB defense.

:diamond: Finish a SnG series on DC and start reviewing MTT series so I can become an MTT _evil: (except, obv, red with gold lightening bolts down the side) in time for Vegas (which I'm destined to satellite into - possibly via Titan WSOP series).

:diamond: Not actually a March goal as such, but a determination to get a series of coachings once I hit an $1800 BR (should that ever happen).

:diamond: Oops, also forgot: start to comment in the eval boards consistantly (say one or two times per week) and work through the FL quizzes as they relate to my article study.

Platform goals

:club: Clear 200 FTP for at least the first 10 days of March (currently on target) - this gives me more options for the remainder of the month in terms of grinding higher status or cruising the rest of the month.

:club: bwin bribed me with a $30 100% deposit bonus so I've deposited there and will try and clear that before moving on to 888.com sometime mid month I guess.

:club: Make all the Titan WSOP qualifier tourneys for the month and get a decent buffer to make the top 200 shootout in May. The next series of tourneys is E10+E1 and worth double points, so if I don't cash in one of the next few I'd like to have some sort of points buffer to be able to sitout the last four or five of these (and save a ton of USD). May require some serious management!

Other random stuff

 Go to the mighty 'tron and watch the Chiefs continue to destroy all comers at least once this month!!

 Go the the mighty 'tron and make wildly inappropriate suggestions to the Australian fieldsmen in the cricket test there at the end of the month. If anyone has the nude pictures of Michael Clark's missus on their phone (and they are out there!), feel free to PM me for my number, as I'm sure Mick would love to have them close by whilst fielding. Possibly blown up to 10m x 4m.

We may get a hiding but at least I'll feel better next time I watch our boys copping it at the MCG if I've shared a few personal thoughts with the Aussie players.

That's all folks!

March has started off okay in SH, sucking in Rush and FR - shocking examples of variance in both cases ofc!

I was sure I would be doomswitched having withdrawn, but so far the executioner has stayed his hand. Which is nice. :f_love:

Study has started okay(ish) and I'm really trying to internalise the Gold Standard lines on the River article. Sod knows how well this will work. I've begun reviewing posted hands but I think I need to work out a way of getting more out of doing this.. I tend to retain too little of the information. I figure I have to try and really understand concepts then find examples from my HH to post to bed the information into my cranium. :f_confused:

It looks like I'm gonna be stiffed by those locality-ist Full Tilt store dudes - for some reason the 500pc Chipset I've been gagging over for about three months (a real live pokerset in a case is something I've wanted for YEARS) isn't able to be shipped to lil' ol' Aotearoa, but the 300pc can be shipped here... obviously size matters and I wanna know why I can't get BIGGER!!... er CHIPSETS!!! :f_rolleyes:

I've replied to customer supports reply to whether this glitch can be overcome, but given anecdotal evidence as to the awesomeness (or lack thereof) of the support folks at FTP I'm not optimistic. On this basis I figure I will probably end up caving and accept the reduced size - but I guess if it is problematic with any of my home games (which, tbh, are relatively rare) then I can save up and buy a second set. At current speed I'm clearing anywhere between 5 - 7k FTP per month so it won't take too long. :f_thumbsup:

The Chiefs played with a benevolence bordering on malevolence ditching a stonking first 20mins to lose to the Reds. I can't even begin to tell you how many seasons we've just missed out on a finals place and I've been bitching saying "it was that freakin' Reds game we butchered 6 weeks ago that cost us!!!". Lets hope this year is different. :f_mad:

C'mon NZ v Australia in today's ODI (cricket). Can we knock the buggers off three times in a row? I just hope we haven't made them angry. :f_eek:

:f_confused: out.

After putting the Rush experiment on hold for the last week or so, things have been travelling along pretty well. Variance is being pretty kind still which is nice. In fact I'm beginning to worry it isn't variance - fortunately I've been around long enough to know better!

Anywhom, I'm adding to my stocks in terms of BB and knowledge after a bit of a sluggish start. I'm constantly fighting the inner grind demon (lets call it Horace) now which seems to grow in influence every time I have a decent run. As long as I keep Horace at bay and make sure I keep studying I think I'll be fine.

In other exciting news (no, not another child - at least I don't think so.... I'll just check.... no, definitely not) I've ordered and will finally own my very own chipset thanks to FTP! YAY! Not the 500pc due to shipping restrictions (BOO) but enough to go on with. If I find the 300pc inadequate for my semi-annual live drinking... er.. poker sessions then I guess I can order another one later.

And someone claiming regal status in degenerate (and therefore excellent) sexual positions (you know who you are) said g'day today on FTP $1/$2 SH - identify yourself if you're around! More friends on FTP are always welcome (I keep running into strat9 a lot lately, which has been uber cool - especially when he's on the other side of the table!) and occassionally taavi and SirVanek. C'mon lads, time to attack $2/$4 SH!!! All going okay I could potentially be there by the end of April. :f_eek:

:f_confused: out.
