OMG Best day ever of test cricket. NZ pwn Austrailia on the first day.. I was there and claim personal responsibility for at least 4 wickets based on unconditional and unrelenting support.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You say dumb, I look at ur stats and wonder.
Keeping a blog like that helps to keep your motivation high, which is vital.

@jk88: It was AWESOME! Pity we bolloxed it up on day two. :f_mad:

@wildster: Thanks for stopping in! Definitely dumb, but stubborn enough not to let that handicap get in the way of getting better! Blogging is definitely cathartic - it does require a balance though to ensure it doesn't become a stream of negative thoughts... occassional vitriol is essential every now and then - we don't want too much sweetness and light in the world. :f_p:

I made a bit of a faux pas in calculating out the rake on 888.com.. it is more like 3.7BB/100 than the 6BB+/100 I was suggesting.. it has been a while since I've calc'd out rake, last time I was playing $.50/$1 so I forgot to divide by the BB.:f_confused:

Oh, in a day we do it quite regularly... it's when it's (allegedly) over five days we have issues...

Damn how low is FL action these days on iPoker...
ATM (I know its 9AM CET, but still) there are only three tables open.

5/10$ SH
1/2€ FR (only 5 out of 10 players)
2/4$ SH (only 3 out of 6 players)

It's usual this low in these days?

@CS: Wow.. it wasn't usually that bad that late.. a couple of hours earlier and that wouldn't be surprising. Right now it looks okay... a couple of tables at each limit - some of them actually playable (just)! :f_rolleyes:

There's plenty of action at FTP - although no FR $2/$4 tables which is unusual.

Horrible day of carnage today.. started okay at 888.com leading to a new BR record for me! FTP sorted me out with relentless beatings at $2/$4 then $1/$2 - good tables doing bad things to good people (good people being me - LDO). Back to b/e for the month - nice graph coming in a couple of days. :f_eek:

Days like this are a bit scary tbh... still my focus is good - eventually I'll start hitting or they'll start missing... or better still we both hit, me my good stuff, them with their rubbish that doesn't improve.

I'm becoming a bit passive in spots where I shouldn't be. Damn you tilt! I must work on this! :f_o:

Yeah, when I was playing on iPoker saturday and sunday there were only 4 tables $/euro/pound 1/2-2/4 tables during the Rush Hours, which used to be (much) more... The tables were actually quite good though, but like Waiboy says, good tables seem to be bad for good people (that includes me as well! :P).

Oh well I only need 1900 more points this month and then iPoker = history for me too.

Maybe iPoker will become playable again? Freaky.

Meanwhile the slaughter continues.. 888.com has caught the bug and I've now dropped 1/5 of my BR in slightly under 24 hours. This graph is getting more impressive by the hour. I should get some 888.com rake race money soon - at least I don't think I'll get rivered on that one...

BTW my mindset is generally still strong in terms of how I'm playing and table selecting etc, although I am getting that spooked feeling whenever I flop top set with only backdoor draws v 2 loose passives that I'm, at best, 40:60 to win = annoying.

And being realistic I'm still up overall for the month - even after my early month withdrawl so that's a great month tbh. Just dealing with the short term beats makes my head spin a little. Still, FTP can sort itself out tonight and it'll all be cooshty - as Del Boy once said.

1/4 gone and counting.

Oh, and I am tilting now.. first awesome example of ridiculous stupid monkey tilt gifting of cash - two hands in a row.

Mindset reboot required.

I'm gambling you've seen a ton of quads against you on 888.

Ofcourse only because the players are so terrible that they call any pocket pair. :P

LOL! Fortunately I've avoided that curse so far (queue unpresedented run of quads v me).

888.com has been a bit weird for me because I've had people folding the flop and turn v c-bets. Other than my eyes bleeding while trying to multitable (ie two table) I've enjoyed playing there - ofc I've been on mega run good there so that clearly taints my view.

Oh, and respite from the sea of 40BB - 60BB losing sessions! BR decimation watch suspended. YAY!:f_love:

That was 209BB over 1700 hands - including 360ish of those at $2/$4 - that's $475!!! :f_eek:

I think if I ever have the opportunity of entertaining a shot at $3/$6 I'll only do so at around $6k. Moving up limits the first time just massively doomswitches me. :f_biggrin:

Lol can you imagine I've 6-tabled at 888. Needless to say I timed out a few times then... 888 software ftw! Last month I deposited $1000 there too, because I had planned to play in the PS rake races, but I already tilted so quickly from the software and lost some to the uberfish there that I had enough of it* and withdrew my $800 again.

But well I have to be honest, the level of play at 888 is really terrible (in a good sense; for us that is). You won't find such soft games so easily elsewhere. :P

*It reminded me too much to my 6-month commitment to another lovely site called MansionPoker with equally rubbish software.

Oooo... yeah... that's the way I love it boys!!!:f_love::f_love:

We all need a decent slapping every now and then! Fortunately I actually started winning showdowns again so I won't need to subject any of us to this uncomfortable situation again for a while... :f_eek:

BTW the FTP chipset is awesome.

Pretty frustrated with things poker again - just for variety. Here are some random shparg:

888.com: Combo of $.50/$1 - $1/$2 SH - some $2/$4 and $.25/$.50 SH in this but nothing significant.

Full Tilt Poker: Just everything played (combos of $1/$2 - $2/$4 SH/FR and a little $.50/$1 Rush). I'm a little beyond breaking this out or even photoshopping my stats - needless to say other than $1/$2 SH nothing makes good reading.

All FL all sites all month: includes some bwin $.25/$.50-$0.50/$1 SH with the 888 and FTP.

Both big dips on the combined graph coincide with attempts at $2/$4SH. I only played approx. 700 hands at this limit on FTP but ran terribly (at something like -13BB/100). I think I only had one winning table at $2/$4SH in that time.

This ended up being a pretty disappointing month on a couple of fronts:

:club: I didn't study enough.

I got caught grinding too much and not enough study. I intend to get ruthless on that from tomorrow on with fixed playing and studying times each and every day.

:club: I continue to allow results to impact on me.

Work in progress.

:club: I don't hand read well enough.

Trying to focus harder and harder on reading hand ranges when not involved in hands. Most of the time I'm two tabling so there really is no excuse for not continually attempting to put villians on ranges.

:club: I make instinctive calls/folds on the river without considering pot odds.

Not all the time, but towards the end and sometimes at the beginning of sessions I get sucked into calling or folding without properly considering both hand ranges and pot size - instead getting caught out being in automatic pilot mode. Not really good enough.

Be well people.
