I thought this was an easy call, but villain couldn't believe I did. To me it's pretty standard, but would love to read the judges' verdict.

My line of thought was that villain didn't have a pocket pair nor an ace, as he would've 3-bet pf as he had been doing. Could he have an 8? Sure, but with that flop I know he didn't believe I had an A, so if he'd had the 8, the c/r would've been a check/push instead. When the 8 pairs, I know I have the nuts with my king kicker. There isn't a card that the river could bring that could scare me (well... maybe he has a flush draw, but I know I'm there ahead), so for me it is a standard call.
Am I right? Or is it too deep level of thinking for the stakes?
