An "i have no clue what to do every single street" hand.

I can't fold flop because after all it's blind battle and he can bet with anything, but i don't like raising because i have to fold to a shove and i have to shove turn if he just calls.

I guess i could push the turn, but how about my J kicker? I'm not that happy about it. I should protect against draws, but with what draws could he bet the flop?

And i don't see him betting for two streets with 2 overcards (one of it an ace). I guess a decent assumption would be that he made 2 pair, with a hand like AT or A5, but the river bet is not that large.

What to do, what to do?

I think the worst thing you can do is to keep calling the bets. Because you got no idea where you are standing.

I think the best play here is reraise on flop and fold to a shove.

i like your line a lot.

raising flop achieves nothing but turning our good hand into a bluff. you want to keep him bluffing into us with worse hands and you dont want to value-town yourself against better hands.

raise/fold flop is really bad, you cant raise top pair and fold in a bvb battle. if you think he will shove with worse hands then r/c flop is a good line but not one i would take very often unless the opponent is super LAG.

im in 2 minds whether to shove turn or just call down.

i think the call down is better because shoving turn doesnt really get us much value from many worse hands and draws definitely wont call a shove. so we would only get called when beat.

so i would call turn and call blank river.

this river isnt a total blank but he gives you 4:1 so you can never fold.

Hand looks good. And if he bet more on the river I'd call too.. the ace is more or less a blank.

personally i wouldn't risk 1/3 of my stack by calling down bets with a very average hand. You still have plenty of BB to wait for a good hand imo.
