I think I maybe should have raised pre-flop, but the main thing I'm wondering about is my bet sizes. I decide to try and slow-play my set after the flop, and call the BTN who I think was trying to buy the pot, so I didn't raise.

On the turn comes a J, possibly improving my opponents' hands which is what I want. I make a small bet that looks weak to try and get the others to call, which they do.

On the river I try to make a value bet, I'm thinking no-one has pocket K's as there was no raise pre. I didn't really know how much to bet here, I made it fairly small, but nobody called. I'd like some advice on how I should have played this hand, what I did wrong etc.

Shoving preflop with your M of 5 and all the dead money in the pot seems better than checking here, since openlimps vom CO and BU usually indicate weak holdings. But checking isn't horrible as well. Raising (not All-In) does not make too much sense since you'd be committed postflop anyway most of the time.

Postflop: Yeah, your betsizing isn't great at all. You flop a monster, so you want to plan your bets in a way that allows you to be all-in on or before the river by not having to make overbets anywhere.

Since this is a very drawheavy board, i'd be inclined to bet lead out about 3300 on the flop to set up a turn shove (betting less than the pot).
Check/raising the flop and shoving the turn might also be an option, if you think that at least one of your opponents is very likely to bet. I really don't see any value in slowplaying here - drawing hands are most likely to invest money on the flop.

I also think you should push pre.
As played you can't check call the flop. The are so many draws out there that you can't do that. I would prob bet around 3k and push any turn or check push flop and be happy with any result. I like much better the donk bet though.

Since the best plays were already named there is nothing more to do then give a resume:

Preflop: Both limps look weak, a shove will collect you a ton of chips most of the time and spares you tough postflop decisions. If you are called, you will flip often, which is ok since it will not happen too frequently.

Postflop: I like the lead out the most. You dont want to give away free cards. A 2-3k bet might induce shoves from pairs and draws. Besides a check/push looks very strong and might chase weaker hands away.
