Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$80/$160 No-Limit Hold'em (5 handed)

Known players:
[tg]CO$5230.00:///////;BU$2430.00:///////;SB (Hero)$2290.00:///////;BB$2130.00:///////;MP3$1420.00:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is SB with A:d, Q:c.
MP3 raises to $1,420.00(All-In), 4 folds, 3 folds, 2 folds, BB folds, MP3 gets uncalled bet back.

Final Pot: $240.

UTG is a BE reg 15/14 over 209 hands

If he pushes Nash this is a 1% call. But it gets ugly when you take the Ax out of his range...

I'm snapping AQ here, and I'm calling AJ aswell. AT would be the close hand imo.

AQ+ AJs+ 99+

looks close. might be BE or slightly +EV. but if you get his range wrong it becomes very bad very quickly.. so i fold.

you really need a solid read on his range to call in this spot

Waw you guys are tight here (or maybe I'm way too loose).
Maybe the range I'm giving him is too loose, but hands like A8o-A7o aren't uncommon for him to shove here imo..

We are pretty risk averse here 5 handed, AQo is a close fold for me here too without reads.

if you put him on that range then its quite an easy call.. but you should know that pushing A7/A8o in his position is bad. (not saying he doesnt because there are a lot of bad regs around... ) i think folding readless is best, until you get a better feel of his range.

I'm shoving A8o from his position most of the time (depending on opponents)... with 9BB, 5handed and about to eat the blinds, is it really that bad?

i think you should do some wizard training.

ATo seems BE against unknowns.

lessthanthreee, what ranges do you assign for 4 unknowns vs mp3 push on this limit?
How would you do it? Experience?

i just assign everyone a std fish range of AT+ 66+. some might call tighter, some might call looser. but the difference to our range is negligible.
