So, after a night of mulling over pokery things whilst being kicked by a four year old, here are my thoughts.
i) I should make sure I have at least a five minute break every hour. Hopefully this will allow me to catch my breath and get my mind straight when it starts to wander.
ii) I am too focussed on getting in the volume that I said I would. Playing my A game > getting in 20K hands per month. If I'm not playing my A game ( = tilting right?) I should take a break.
iii) I am feeling really stressed about the fact that, if I don't improve and move up, the book project falls on its arse. I need to get over this, as results oriented thinking like this is the kiss of death.
iv) When I slip into B game/autopilot mode, I become psychotically aggressive. This is not profitable at NL10.
v) When I play chess, I don't give away my pieces. I just don't dump my queen by mistake any more. In poker, I'm still at the equivalent of the 'Oops! I forgot you were attacking my queen!' stage. I think I can get past this.
I shared my thoughts with mrsjb this morning, and she opined that I am 'anal enough to be able to sort it out'. I then made the mistake of asking her what that means exactly, forgetting that she'd just covered Freud in her counselling course. I hope she's wrong,...I mean right,... I mean...
