i 3betted him 1hand earlier. and played K high flop with QQ passively only for his AQo to suck out on the river and he value betted me. so i chat boxed him saying "zzzz" and he said "lol" next hand i got aces and this is what happened. i played passively because i wanted to get value from whatever hands, since he calls pretty crap cards OOP. but i misclick and checked the turn as well, and this is what happened.

Had 2 sessions at nl10 so far.. Last night I 24 tabled n lost 2 n a half stacks. Was unable to let go of my TPTKs, lower sets etc etc. However, today's short session, I played 9 tables and actually made back my 2.5 stacks. Had more time to think and make plays, justifying each as I made them. Might stick to 10-12 tables for a while, adding tables when I feel my decision making improves.

-----------review on my past 2 months of play--------

i have been playing too much and studying the game too little. sometimes i was playing and really not knowing what concepts to apply and really confused about what i was doing.
i have been playing like 50 hours of poker to 1 hour of study like watching videos etc.
i planned to commit too much time to poker which i was unable to fufilll due to laziness and other commitments.
studying time was imbalanced, for example i watched 2-3 videos at a go and after that forget a tonne of stuff.
watched this video by leatherass, found out that he is pretty nitty and he doesnt need to get too aggressive to win pots. he shared that pushing Axs pre flop wasnt such a bad idea since the equity was almost like pushing with a flush draw. he could call in position if he suspects the opponent is bluffing and then bet on the river to put the opponent off a hand, instead of raising directly on the flop/turn. that helps to collect more information about the strength of the opponents hand.

finally i managed to become profitable with 10bb/100 on NL10 rush on full tilt, reduced loss rate on pokerstars but still not profiting. i find it really hard to read a hand on pokerstars when they check-raise with air and call u down with funny stuff. rush poker is easier to read because they play with a narrower range of hands and its easier to spot a set check-raise( because it happens so rarely) and a flush draw push, because the flush is so obvious.
i found that i was unable to focus on too many tables like on pokerstars because i have a bad memory and cannot remember the actions previously and relate to the statistics, like who raised preflop or who limped and whether that same person did a check raise. full tilt was easier since there were only 4 rush tables.

i am schooling now and find myself really busy that it is difficult to fork out 2 hours of uninterrupted play. i often have like half hour here and there and may need to leave before my allocated time is up. this means i dont have the privilege of waiting too long for a table. however rush poker offers me immediate start/stop which can cater to my schedule.

as such, this is my new planned schedule until end november, which is the end of my school term before further review.

playing only on RUSH NL full tilt,

1. play on average 1 hour a day, which means 7 hours a week. i am currently exceeding this but i thought it was better to overachieve and then slowly raise the target.
2. watch a video every week(one hour) and write notes on it. although i may not refer to these notes in the future, writing it down helps me to remember certain concepts.
3. make an effort to apply the concept learnt from the previous video.
4. to move up to NL25 by 31 OCT.

now if only i have a 200bb stack..

Alright! With supey not holding the fort at the moment, thought i would give an update on how my poker journey had been. Just finished my mid term exams and I have a one week break now!
As such, I have decided to set a few goals for this holidays.

1. Play at least 4 hours of poker on my free days. and try and squeeze in some poker on those tt i am not.

2. Watch at least 1 video on those days. This is to balance education with the playing.

3.Review each session, seeing where my old habits on not being able to let go of hands and being a spew monkey can be tamed.

4. Post up at least 1 hand from the session which I feel should be evaluated by an expert.

5. Read up on Omaha to see if I can try the game out. I want to be able to see the "connectivity" of the board better. One of the BIGGEST leak i see in my game is the fact that I do not see straight/flush possiblities as freely as I should be. Not that much on flushes but on straights. Some of you might feel that I am being weird having the thinking that Omaha can help in this aspect but personally, I feel that if I play Omaha, I will not think my top pair is good without considering the board, seeing in Omaha, top pair usually mean u are nowhere near the best hands majority of the time.

Enough said about goals, shall do my 1st hand posting here since I am already typing here. This came from my 2hour session just played. Big stack is a rock and I put him on an high pair. However, I liked my equity on the flush draw and thought I push might be good for fold equity, FORGETTING that the small stack is all-in already. Silly mistake but yeah. Just wondering if I should had pushed?

been only 6 days since the start of the month and doing pretty well. thanks to supeyrio and Emanuel who have been helping me improve my game.

i am currently aiming for the full tilt iron man status and i plan to get the north end warm up jacket in the first month, this is how it looks like

well its not great looking but i guess it gives me a reason to play for volume everyday. since my school is pretty well air-conditioned and cold, i have an excuse to wear it! if only they could put my name on the jacket

just reached a new stake of NL25. pretty uncomfortable there given that the stakes is like 2.5 X bigger than my previous stakes. however my first session appears to be good. the game appears to be still beatable. perhaps i played on a weekend where there were more fishes... if this continues i am going to start to make more big ticket purchases!!!

i dont want to ruin anything here, but I ordered that jacket like 7-8 months ago and its not really warm, actually its not warm at all, the air blows right thru it, so its kinda just something for the logo not for a 10-15 degree weather, also if its wind outside you dont wanna go out with this, u'll freeze in it. and the quality of the jacket isnt that good either, i wanted to buy the one with 600 medals but after getting this I just rather not, they only send you cheap quality stuff from china... hope it wont make u feel sad, its just the truth..
