Heh then therein lies the problem: poker is about NOT taking the long shots at any goals, but about taking the better equity shots, and improving your play to such a degree that the "long shot" is not that "long" anymore.
You'll always need luck, no doubt about it, but if you don't care about the winrate the most, and only about the opportunities you get, you won't improve your game to a degree where you actually HAVE a reasonable chance at these goals.
The people who win and/or cash at these super satelites + ultimate satelites + WSOP events are dominated by players who are very good players, which means their winrates are high against other good players, which means they care a LOT about their profit. skill => winrate => profit (which include wins in these events)
Of course you'll need luck, but see how often the good players reach high spots at these events? so if they have a 1 in a few dozen chances to reach a high place....if you don't care a LOT about playing profitably, you may need 1 in many thousands...
(numbers just for comparison).
Hope your winrate improves so that when you DO get to the WSOP, you'll show them who's the boss!
