If I want to put an image into a forum post, I understand that I need to upload it to a 3rd-party website.
Which ones are recommended?
Any sites I should avoid? -- If so, why?

hi VS,
there are quite a lot of free image hosting sites out there. before, i used imageshack.com but they have made things a bit difficult since the pic doesnt show up unless the person viewing the pic is logged on to their site. now i use imgur.com. it works fine for me 
there are plenty of other ones out there. i hope other members can drop by and share which one they use.

Yes, I did that, however as you can see there is a huge array of choices.
I was hoping for some pros and/or cons so I did not have to try all of them myself.

is used imageshack last night and it worked totally fine for me ...
you can upload without being a member so thats a plus for me ...
you can resize the image easily as well which is good...
i'm not aware of the benefits of being a member although i do know you can delete your images but that is not important to me ...
so i say imageshack ... easy relatively hassle free .. peace
