Been running bad and naively entered a super stack $10 tourney.

Thought I was gonna ship it, ran card dead on the final table.

99 < QQ

Btw, my presumption of player skill between micro and low stakes being no different is almost correct, I saw just as many donks and just as many LAGtards in this tournament throw away a healthy chip stack by playing 80% of their hands.

Variance is not as high, post flop is slightly more skilled but it was unbelievable how loose some of my opponents played.

Look forward to having the correct bankroll for these.

Okay, after much deliberation this past week, which has been an incredible rollercoaster ride I've decided to switch focus from the 90 man SnG's to the full ring STT. I'll throw a few 6max in there as well, as I feel this will help my final table showdowns in MTT's, it's all connected at the end of the day. Everything is great practice.

I'll be playing both the $2 and $5 SnG's with the aim of playing the $5 on a regular basis. My bankroll is sufficient for the $5 at the moment, but only just so will grind both stakes for max volume and profits.

My main focus will be to remain TAG and to not be distracted, and to learn how to multi table without feeling dizzy.

I think I can pawn these, will take a bit of work initially but have cashed 100% in the full ring STT's. So far anyway, thrice to be exact :P.

-----------------------

I support Derby County, by far the greatest football team and the forum i frequent has a thread titled 'Draw a footballer in paint'. You know, the crap art feature most of you use for brags and whatnot (see above post).

Check it out.

I made this.

For now..

ETA: Definitely sticking with full ring STT, don't think many opponents can cope with my aggressive style when it gets down to HU. Although this also works against me sometimes, I like to lead out and run into sets sometimes. Although there are a lot of regs, I'm still able to hold an advantage.

Yeah, as you suggested it's the most profitable way. MTT's and 90mans have way to much variance for profits. I love playing them but need an income first.

Been a topsy turvy day today, tilted a bit whilst multi tabling. To much for me to handle when play in STT's moves around quickly. Not quite got the stamina yet.
I find when I'm single tabling I'm nearly always in the money, 2 tables almost always, 4 tables I'm getting the hang of. Any more, bit to much.

CURRENT BANKROLL.
$290.01.

Oh, groan.
Sorry, I had visions of some massive tilt/spew happening.
I just tried to log on to FT and discovered the bad news.

My BR contained none of my own money at all, so I didn't really worry too much.

I suspect that they'll jump through the required hoops, and be back up later today/tomorrow.

The only other tracked room I have is Party, whose software I loathe.

Haha, if it was just a tilt/spew I'd take it on the chin. This is something out of my control.

Absolutely gutted.

You make plans, start to get optimistic, can see the bright lights because there is no way you can lose now. Everything is laid out for you. Few downward swings here and there but bigger upswings that keep the smile on your face.

Was going camping this weekend, was going to the gym, but I can't afford it now.

There is a slight bit of hope they'll be back up this evening some time if they can get a new license with a different server but I don't wanna get my hopes up.

FML!

I'm gonna end up depositing elsewhere, i know it. But I don't know where. Have registered with pokerstars but since they are American not really sure I can trust American owned sites anymore. There is 888 where i have a friend playing, but I hate there software, so easy to mis click if you're talking with sweat partners. Pressing enter means a min raise, crazy! Yep, done it quite a few times.

Well I'm on Party for the duration.
Sure wish PokerStars/PokerStrategy permitted retracking accounts.

I've bit the bullet and decided on Pokerstars. Reading around various forums, they seem to suggest that Pokerstars is safe.

My account here is actually tracked at Pokerstars, and because I will mainly be playing/profiting in the STT it seems like the best option Tried a couple of other sites for the STT's, not good. Pokerstars has a similar payout/rake deal to FTP, most other sites like Party have ridiculous rake (no Tony G, you are a desperate man and your no rake promo has zero attraction to me).

The bigger the site, the more players are playing, the more fish to catch. I'm hungry.

The STT's are the same as FTP at Pokerstars, they run slightly longer but I think that's because of the inferior software. Players also last longer, probably waiting for the push or fold stage. I don't know why, they are terrible at it. I watched about 10 games before i settled on Pokerstars, at the $3, $7 and $15 stakes. I think they are all profitable.

Good news is that FTP has been sold, so hopefully I'll get all (albeit small compared to the larger bankrolls) my bankroll back.

I had $290.01 at FTP

Only deposited £10 at PS, so that was about $16. Current PS bankroll = $26.58.

Hopeful total = $316.59.

Since I only deposited a small amount at PS, I'll continue on with the $3 stakes for now just to accumulate a large enough roll for the $7. Hopefully i don't run into to much variance/downswings and I can get to $100 soon.

I'll continue with the $3 from there, but will throw in a few $7 to experience playing those rather than watching.

My BRM looks absolutely terrible, but I'm confident FTP will be back soon so I actually almost have the roll for $7 now.

Fingers crossed.

----------

Real life shit.

As I've mentioned already, I live in Derbyshire. We have the Olympics in England next year (or should I say 'they' have the Olympics in London), and they've run up a contract for some trains with Ze Germans (Siemens) rather than use a reputable British company that is based in Derby. Because it is cheaper expenditure I think.

Bombardier (the Derby company) has had to insta axe 1500 temp workers, with fears of up to 3000 more. Meaning at least 3000 will have to sign on to jobseekers. Spending money on people who are very unlikely to find work within the next 1 - 5 years. Rather than spending money to accumulate more money, the government has screwed itself (again) and has decided to spend money on jobseekers with no chance of profit.

Some of those people will lose their homes, some will turn to drugs/alcohol and families may be broken. All costing the government money, and making Derbyshire as a whole a very bleak place to live. So many unemployed, so many companies busto, it doesn't make sense.

So, having been out of work for a while now, I have no confidence in the system and very focused on poker now.

I hear my friends say I'm taking a risk, but I don't see it that way. I'm investing, in my future and hope to have many happy times playing poker, hopefully profiting massively and investing into my home county, Derbyshire. We need something here in middle England, something to make people smile.

Anyway, after all that black cloud mumbo jumbo, I remain positive about poker and confident.

SHIP IT!

Glad to see you've found a new home mate. Was thinking of joining you on there but im still abit unsure on where to deposit, 888 is just awful for SNG's.

I need to find a home, and fast!!

Come to Pokerstars, you won't regret it.

If you're concerned about them going down with FTP at some point (of which neither will imo) just keep a small BR on there.

The stakes are a bit weird, you'd probably be focused on the $7 6max which I think pays a little better than FTP, not much, lower rake. Throw a few $15 one's in.

888 is a fun site to throw $10 away in tourneys playing against uber aggressive fish, or just chipping away at their stacks stealing blinds 3/5 hands in cash games, but in the long term, you're suffering volume and profit wise.

Also, the software is terrible!

Just put a small amount in at pokerstars, I owe you $10 so there's $10 more. Pretty much the exact same opposition as FTP, gamblers basically. So much limping though, I've no idea where this disease has spread from at Pokerstars, it's incredible. Everyone is doing it, IT'S A DISEASE. Mind you, easier to capitilise and extract more value from your winning pots.

Just now, this happened.

FOURTH HAND IN, later on maybe I could understand, but the 4th hand...

I'm in the thinking that BRM is not needed to much in these lower stakes, because they are easily beatable. I don't have that much experience playing them tbh, but my success rates must be about 75% in total including the FTP ones.

COME ON BURG!

Edit - Well, that's 2/2 games played and both successes.

Current BR at PS is now $41.67 from the initial $16 starting BR.

They also have Euro buyins, as you may have noticed with my above hand. I'm thinking there might be more fish playing those, but both the Euro and $$$ are profitable on there.

I'm from Belper originally, but live in Heanor now (whyyyy).

I'm thinking these $3.50/Euro 3.50 SnG's are so weak it's almost impossible not to cash.

Only played 2 though, so....we'll see. TBH though, the opposition has proved weak.

Just flirted with a super turbo, need to work a little on my ICM training. Must admit, I've been a bit lax on that since FTP vanished so need to get my education side of poker on the up.

Birchvale here mate, which is a couple of miles from Newmills which you will surely know. Might give them 45mans a blast with the $10 Dan has shipped me.

Its nice to be playing at a site with decent software again!!

Pokerstars has no SnG's after server restart, which is a tad annoying but 'oh well!', gives me time to be an ass.

Burg, why do you support Manchester United you glory seeking plonk. Derby County frown at you. Bet you've never been to a game!

--------

FTP rumoured to be back tomorrow sometime. So roll will be transferred ASAP over to Pokerstars. I loved FTP though, so will leave $10 to play about with. If they go down again it's more than people give tramps so they should feel grateful.

--------

GOALS FOR JULY.

Achieve Silverstar at Pokerstars. (That means getting 60 games in before the end of the month).

Get BR up to $500 (this includes my current FTP roll so it's about $170 more, if FTP doesn't come back, $100 - $200).

Start reading up on poker more than I have over the past 2 weeks. (Spent a lot of time learning whilst playing and have narrowed my weak spots, thanks to pokertracker I can now see them more clearly).

Buy some tyres, innertubes, running shoes, tracksuit bottoms, t - shirt and a hoody. (partly cos I'm lazy and need to get fit, partly because all my clothes are ruined).

--------

Found my first white hair today, on my chin. Actually my chin is multi-coloured hair wise, but am mildly pleased I won't go grey.

Current Pokerstars BR = $69.60.

My cards wouldn't hold in the last Euro game, fluked 3rd with 95 chips left.

Donked out in one of my early $ games, guy with AA limped pre and checked to me on a J high flop. Shoved with 88, out.

Other than that, I've won 5/7 SnG's played and placed 3rd in one which by rights I should have won as well, terrible players. Variance doesn't always agree though.

Agreed, but I'm very poor and have been used to being poor for so long it makes you lazy. Lifestyle didn't help in the first place, only so much a dole'r can do after smoking pot for many years. No jobs, can't get into Uni because of inflated applicants since the recession and just a basic world of shite.

Read books, play guitar, play poker....then it became play poker....but as you say I'm lazy, hard disease to cure.

Tyres, inner tubes, runners, trackies, T and hood. Grind the parks, grind the tables.
