It's a free day in Lithuania, celebrating something, dunno what lol, but I have nothing to do so I decided to write up my progress of first half of 2011.

Long term goals review:

:diamond: Post my first hand in the evaluation forums! (+)
I posted not even one but TWO hands there! Definitely need to use the forum more. I've read most of the hand evals but need to post my opinion/hands too. discussion helps a lot to learn I suppose.

:diamond: Get gold, read articles, watch vids (+)
:diamond: Get platinum, read article, watch vids (+)
Both gold and platinum. I like articles more cause I fell asleep like half of the time I started a video. On the whole I don't find videos a whole lot helpful expect pzhon's theoretical ones, although they're silver (wtf? they're the best material here for SNGs). Also I don't find much difference in skill of gold/platinum videos except that my favorite coach faarcyde's videos are all platinum. But still the main progress in done by analyzing the games yourself.

:diamond: Buy HEM (+)
:diamond: Buy SNG Wizard (+)
:diamond: Buy a bigger monitor so I can atleast 6 table (+)
:diamond: Buy a second monitor, multitable 8-10 cont. (+)
:diamond: Create a useful HUD (+)
Got HEM(+Omaha), SNG Wiz, 2 monitors. I can multitable up to 10 tables now. Made a little script with AHK to arrange and resize my tables, helps a lot with shitty Ongames soft. I also plan to extend the script so I can at least have hotkeys for folding and pushing. Changed my HUD a million times and I'm now stuck with only preflop stats filtered by player #, everything coloured. There's so little postflop game that I don't even use cbet/fold to cbet.

:diamond: Reach 75 buyins for $5s (+)
:diamond: Reach 100 buyins for $10s (+)
As I live in a small poor country money wise poker is very profitable for me. Especially considering that I chased bonuses for constant %50+ rakeback. I was able a BR sufficient even for $33 games but never moved there. Reasons below.

:diamond: Qualify for Ongames rake race (+)
:diamond: Qualify for Ongames rake race for $200 (-)
:diamond: Qualify for Ongames rake race for $300 (-)
I actually thought I would qualify for $200 last month but I realized I played on 2 rooms and points don't sum up.

:diamond: Be a winning player on $22s over at least 2k games (-)
Not close yet. I need to beat $11s for a decent sample first.

Life time graphs:

Micro ($3 and $5). I'm doing ok here. 5% adjusted ROI.

Low ($11 and $22). No sample and not comfortable with those swings there. I think I'm at best BE player there.

The blind structure is very unbalanced on Ongame. You start of with 50 as on ordinary turbos everywhere but nearing the bubble it's pure super turbo + antes what makes it even more faster. The variance is huge there thus I suppose best attainable ROI over a good sample should be like 7-8%. And by good sample I mean nothing less than 5k games. 1k is just nothing on those speeds.
Overall I'm running more than 130 BI above EV after almost 5k games. So if you believe red line yeah I'm very lucky. Anyway I consider myself as a somewhat 5% winning player in micro limits and BE at low.
I still have loads of leaks to fix. I'm only starting to adjust to antes. I steal way too tight when blinds are big, too loose near the bubble, etc. Although I have like 60bb/100 after 10k hands at 20 and 30bb level I still feel like I have no clue what my lines should be after flop. What is considered standard, what's not. I only play from my own experience which I build by only 4 tabling for 4 months.

Now about the future. Ongame doesn't offer much traffic at $33+ limits so I feel like this path isn't the best as it has limitations. Some other options:
1. Stay at Ongame and play 5max. Although I hate 5max games on Ongame, they are profitable and not like fullring they have enough volume at high limits to even go pro. If I feel like I'm getting any better postflop and on the whole with deeper stacks I will consider moving to them. They are even more unbalanced with 75/25 pay out structure, plus shitty blinds structure. Anyway that's adjustable and you can even exploit that to gain an edge.
2. Stay at Ongame and play DONs. Another game that has good traffic of all limits. I don't think they're anything profitable but it's easy to make money from big rakeback on Ongame. The least fun and most money oriented option, don't think I will go for that but nontheless.
3. Move to Party and continue fullring SNGs. The least unexplored option. From what I've seen from coachings the games are ok, the traffic is ok, but I'd like some opinion from some who grinds them and also played on Ongame so already asked some people who might help. I like Party's software too. The thing is I'm very spoiled by Ongame's rakeback so dropping from 50%+ to like 15% wouldn't be fun. Anyway at least I would enjoy playing and could move up some day to high stakes (hopefully there is traffic there)
4. Go crazy and switch to PLO. I already play some PLO10, dunno why I was hating the game even before I tried. Definitely a fun option but I'd have start from scratch as I have never played any cash games let alone PLO. What inspires the most is how soft the games are there. Anyway I will mix some PLO whatever I decide.
Anyway I have job now for summer so all those options will have to wait till autumn. For now I'll just stick to good old $5s and try to improve as much as I can. No money or volume oriented at all. I will only withdraw rakeback now and build my BR with winnings. Already deposited 500$ at Redkings and their FDB will give me 62.5% cashback for next 2 months.

I guess that's it. A long post already. :) I will update some first post long term goals and done! Take care, bye.

Not sure, but gona deposit on Ongame probably this month and tell you about the difference, after that, and the reason is rakeback program.

Do you play in sets or... and how many tables?

Continuous only, 8-10 tables depending on how tired I am. Sets won't make sense there cause blinds are 3 mins and if you wanna play like sets of 9 then the first game will be ITM while the last still loading. Also in the $11+ fullring games atleast 2/3 of the players are regs (not necessarily good). Table selection isn't possible cause there's 1 game loading at a time and there aren't too many games so all regs play all possible games. Anyway by bonus whoring you can get 50-62.5% rakeback, games are very fast so good games/h, and if you manage to grind out some 5% ROI then they'll be decently profitable. If my calculations are correct it should equal Party's $11s with 10% ROI and 15% rakeback from their modest vip system.

EDIT: Btw, I forgot about rakeraces. There are plenty of them on Ongame, including the one here. And they favor SNG players cause due to their Essence system cash players loose ~33% value. So yeah, you can even get ~70% back.

Thx mate on this info, everything you put here is something i was considering about. But after some thinking, OnGame is my next station, rack back is much better in general than Party. Thx a lot.

EDIT* Is HEM work there, with Ongame? I have win7 (pro)

You could get this or any other of 30+ created skins easily.

Hi dydukas,

I like the card mod. How do I get it?

thanks.

@VBZg Well if you're ready for shit software, fast unbalanced games, huge swings, lower ROIs and playing the same opponents all the time then Ongame is for you! But yeah, imo guaranteed profit from rakeback rather than counting on your winnings weights it all. And after all I'm just a fishy, if you crush those games and avoid swings somehow then they are super profitable.

After the last update HEM works perfectly there. You'll just need to adjust your HUD, maybe remove some unnecessary stats, cause space on tables is somewhat less than other rooms.

And when you move, be wary of your BRM. 50BI swing is just a matter of couple days there! Gl :)

Yeh me too... Changing theme from time to time was a cool thing to have some changes in the monotony of grinding.

EDIT: People at 2+2 say it works with the Java client too. When I figure it out I'll send you message and put an explaining post here. Sent friend request. :)

Today I bought sharkscope subscription. So interesting. I always knew that 1-2k games isn't a good sample but after this graph it looks even more scary. That's a reg from low stakes.

Haven't been playing at all lately but I study poker the whole day now at work.

Ok then. I suppose you're new to sngs so I recommend to get silver asap and read silver articles for starters from the strategy section and watch some sng videos. But articles with starting hand charts especially for turbos are better to begin with imo.

You'll need atleast 75 buyins so with $250 I recommend playing $3-4 games and move up when you have 75 buyins of next level.

Alos you'll need to move out of Everest if you wanna play sngs. The only rooms which offer good traffic for sngs now are:

1. Partypoker. Their rake is huge for first levels which is good and bad for you. Good - keeps the regs away, bad - you'll need bigger ROI to beat the games. But they are soft so it's doable.

2. Pokerstars. Least rake but tougher competition. Anyway best traffic atm there so you can maybe table select. Anyway with the help of ps.com you'll beat those games too.

3. Ongame. Rake is average, but very good bonuses for many rooms on the network. You will be able to clear your first deposit bonuses like 20 times if you want to. Opponents are easily beaten. But the games here are almost super turbo so keep in mind that you won't get high ROIs here.

Chose one and start grinding.

Hope that helps for starters. Ask if you wanna know more.

Hey dydukas :)

I'm just subscribing to this blog.

That graph you posted from scope, zomfgzomfg he has like 10K breakevens??? What the hell does he play?

As for jokerbaba, I definitely do NOT recommend ongame to start with. Those (super)turbos give you swings that go to the nerves of many seasoned regs, if you get hit by something bad in that room you may loose the willingness to play poker/sngs entirely, even though you might be playing A-game which beats the limit by far.

The same turbos as I do on Ongame just a level lower. Yeah they are soulcrushing for beginners if they don't get lucky at first.

But for a reg even those loosing/BE stretches are ok if you STRONGLY believe in your game. Especially with 60% rakeback. :f_biggrin:

Shame my pc can't handle that software with more than 4 tables open... I mean it actually freezes... bleh. You play the $22s?

You need to try again if you haven't after their update flash->java. Really runs faster now.
Nope, can't play seriously till autumn due to work, so just some $5s and PLO from time to time. _cry: Without volume those games aren't fun. :)
