raising the flop would make you vulnerable against a turn check/raise. if i would wanna raise him id rather raise the turn for freeshowdown and fold to a 3 bet. costs only 1 sb less and gives you way more fold equity. well at higher limits people normally raise the turn - a flop raise doesnt give u a lot of credibility. maybe at 0.5/1 a flop raise is good. i like the way you played it though - i would play it the same way (or take the raise turn for free showdown line - depends on the mood, my table image and so on - those ways are both good).

i like having you here, another one giving good analyses.
thanks

and i think i mistyped/tought when i put the hand. should be raise turn.

I would call this down aswell...

What would you do if a J/Q/A came on turn or river? Fold it there or still calldown against this opponent?

EDIT: Indeed it's nice to see you here, every new face is welcome Especially if they give some good and detailed opinions

Against his 3-betting range you're probably going to win roughly one in three.

You're behind TT+, AKs, AKo, KQs, KJs, KQo.
You're ahead of AQs, AJs, ATs, AQo, AJo.

Winning one in three makes a calldown pretty straightforward, no need to get tricky with freecard/freeshowdown raises, unless you are happy to fold to a 3-bet.

Get to a showdown and let's see what he's got.

thanks for the compliments :) its way nicer here than in the german forum - not that crowded and no flamers!

i thought about the hand again. on higher limits when the tables get less you play more against the same players. in these situations its very important to raise the turn in that hand from time to time...if youre doing that only with a King your thinking opponents adapt to that and got easy folds if you raise those boards. but giving them the read that youre doing that with pockets too makes them call down the next time you really got the king! so thats the importance of ballancing - although at 0.5/1, where u are facing new players each day its not that important..

I think that's the point Benny, the average player on .50/1 isn't going to be making a note of you always calling down with this, or only raising the turn with that.

The micros is good for straightforward plays. Metagame will be more important later. :)

i like the calldown here as well. he is very aggressive but his wts is quite low.

What about his stats? He's really tight agressive.. I think he holds a good hand. So as it has been said before, Hero could raise turn for free showdown..

But against this kind of agressive player, is a raise the good choice? He could 3-bet us with many hands we beat, like AJ/AQ, 77-88 or so..

I think a calldown is the right decision

a big af doesnt mean he likes to raise all the time - could also mean he never calls. i think a 3 bet by A high is very rare on those kind of boards - i cant remember seeing it by a reasonable player! maybe if hero bluffed him a few times before but normally people dont do that...normally ;)

If you think of him as a reasonable he would always bet 77 or 88 the same way as he did now. So the range that you're ahead of is a bit larger and makes a calldown better I think.

He has a very low wts and you have a made hand so why would you want to get him off a worse hand? :)

I doubt that you can make him folda betterhand like TT+ so I like the calldown very much and I would play it nearly allway the same way.

I like the balancing discussion but I wouldn't balance my K with a good made hand. He is able to fold A-high (low wts) so why not balancing it with rare pure bluffs? (Nt on this limit.)

What do you think about it BennyTK? :)

EDIT: I really enjoy the new discussins here. I think more about the hands and maybe I can improve my game as well. :)

Yep but we dont want A high to fold right? Or maybe cause he has 6 outs, we want that? With his AF, he could 3bet us on turn with AJ/AQ, maybe 77-88 etc.. and we will get bluffed cause we have to fold imo :O

we want him to get out to protect against the 6 outs he might hold. i dont know if pure bluffs have a positive EV - i rarely do pure bluffs and running good with that. i think if you wanna bluff then semibluff with draws down to gutshots - that increases the positive EV of that move a lot. (for example with 78 on that board - so he doesnt have to fold as many times (since you hit your gutshot in some cases) to make that move +EV) most of the time people dont see that you just semibluffed knowing that he will fold many times and if you hit your gutshot they will think your the biggest idiot - good for you since they underestimate you from now on!

Sure pure bluffs are not the best idea so a picked up draw is fine as well. :)
