Pre Flop: (t60) Hero is SB with A :diamond: 6 :diamond:

BB is a decent reg, who probably you all know :P He's defending his blind fairly often from my experience. So here he could be 3betting as a bluff, which is the most common line or just 3betting for deception/value with 4x or 5x. He knows me as well. No previous history with him 3betting IP bvb,so I don't know. Should I cbet in first place, when I expect to get raised on this paired board often or is c/c line better? I hate folding A high here, because as it rates to be the best hand most of the time imo.

Getting into blind wars with good regs sucks.

If you think you are getting raised on this board often - dont cbet. You are just burning money, bluff 3betting is rlly expensive and he may shove over you assuming you would not have 5x in your range and wouldn't do it with anything else.

Remember, if you raise a margninal hand preflop against someone who is not folding much to your steals and not just folding to your cbets, you are no longer "blind stealing". He is stealing your preflop raise and cbet instead. The best way to exploit such regs is tighten your preflop range, and dont put in cbets on boards you cant rep anything - i.e. find a way to turn their loose calls and postflop aggro against them.

Folding A6s pre or ch/folding post are fine imo. And completing is another option - if he starts to raise every complete, then limp AQ and r/r once in a while ;)

I don't think you should be folding A6s here. I agree with tightening up, but A6s is mandatory imo.

Do you guys think that c/c is too marginal on this flop?

I think it's def. a must to tighten up my range given the fact that the good reg is gonna defend a lot and we are OOP the whole 3 betting rounds, which is a huge disadvantage. But I still think I will play around 25% when usually I go for like 50-60% or even more. Not sure exactly how we do adjust though. But I will still raise any suited ace for sure and probably check/call flop.Really interested in these BvB reg vs reg dynamic spots.

Nothing is mandatory. We should open all - and only - those hands we can do so profitably. That range is not fixed. It is absolutely player dependent.

A6s is not an easy hand to play oop. If we dont hit an Ace we have almost no playability or barreling equity if we dont hit :diamond: on flop or turn. If we do hit an ace, we rarely get a big pot unless we are behind.

I'm not saying we "should" fold this hand pre. Im saying it is ok to do so.

The main point is that we can still open a good wide range 25%+ without being obliged to open every Ace. I would happily subsitute 78s or J9o for this hand vs a good plyer (if he is making your life difficult postflop)

the open is standard. just open more playable hands and less dominated hands. think about what hands he defends with and choose to dump some really bad spots like A2o K8o etc.

bluff raising this flop is pretty bad if hes doing it often, what is he repping? the standard line is to float/double float.

but yes fold without history and the cbet is fine if you have a plan on the turn. c/f is also fine
