Five hands in on table, no reads on opponent.

When opponent checked the turn I felt there was a good chance I had the best hand and should bet the river. Was the river bet good? Was the river call good? For that matter was the flop call good?

Flopcall is mandatory. You have a strong pair and he may raise with worse Pairs and consider that flushdraws have been able for him to raise with and take a freecard but since i think his range is polarized between a busted flushdraw and Ax, i would check/call the River. But actually i don't understand why he checked back with Ax or some strong hand. That makes no sense. Could also be a hand like 89s, maybe 66 or something he could call the river on a bet.

So by assuming this it's not a mistake to donk out and as the second ace makes Ax less likely and he played like having a flushdraw you have to play bet/call on the River. So for the next time you know that he's capable of slowplaying and you should check/call the River or bet/fold. Since it's uncommon that people raise small Pairs on Ax board after preflop 3bet i keep assuming that his range is polarized and check/call River and let him Bluff his Draw like JT KJ QT Q9 QT J9 T9 QJ :heart: and avoid getting raised by a slowplayed monster.
