Is there a better way this hand could have been played?

If I read this right you are the button which is a standard raise situation and I have no problem with min-raising here pre-flop so that is fine here.

When the big blind defends we have to decide whether or not this flop which is very wet is going to be in his range. I think this flop will generally hit him in some way here. I don't like the idea of betting even though it seems standard because the idea of getting raised off our hand isn't a great situation. We have two overs and an open-ended straight draw so I would check here and take a free one. This allows us to see the turn for free and keeps the pot small if he decides to lead the turn.

I wouldn't do that 100% of the time but I would probably check back on flop more than c-bet but of course this is when I have no reads.

That is really the only thing that you could have done differently here. I am not a huge fan of getting it in here but I don't think it is terrible either since you are only 20bbs effective and you have fold equity with two overs and an open-ended straight draw.
