Dealing with weird players

Well, it depends on how we define 'weird', I suppose.

I have made the decision to simply disable chat on all of my poker sites many years ago. Some say it contains useful information on who is on tilt, but at least for me personally, it seemed like it was mostly harming my game. Even when the chat was occasionally a pleasant experience, it was still a distraction, and I'm not looking for new friends at the poker tables anyway, I am just trying to play.

If there are any players in the chat who are making you feel uncomfortable for any reason, I would strongly advise you to at least block those individual players, and possibly report them if you have a reason to do so.

I don't pay to much attention to the chat if I play poker. Especially if I play in multiple games at once, but indeed you see somtimes weird stuff in the chat, but most of the time you can report it to the poker room.

Thank you. I blocked him already and I added more details on why he was weird. I am not normally very active on forums but I was very concerned other people might get cheated by him.

Definitely report players like that, this kind of behavior goes against the rules of just about every poker room out there.

In general, I don't believe it is a good idea to exchange personal contact information with anyone you have met in some kind of chat room.

its casino, all kind of people could show up, drunkards, addicts etc... ive seen also a lot of non-sense talk. our business is simply to take their money as players.

Definitely! I've run into some pretty weird characters while playing online poker. Once, a player kept trying to chat me up about their conspiracy theories in between hands. It’s usually best to just stay focused on the game and not let the strange side conversations throw you off.

Smelly players are way worse than weirdos!
