Is there any baccarat beginner?

It is mathematically impossible to beat the house in Baccarat, so the only strategy there is would be to bet on "Banker" every time, because this is the bet with the lowest house edge. You are correct in assuming that you should not bet on "Tie", because this bet has the highest house edge by far among the three options.

If you are playing live, it is technically possible to marginally improve your odds by counting cards, but unlike in Blackjack, it will not allow you to gain an edge over the house. It will only help you to identify situations where the Player bet would have better odds than the Banker bet ("better odds" as in "losing less money in the long run"). It is cumbersome to do, though, and not worth it, since it won't allow you to beat the game anyway.

The following odds tables are taken from the website Wizard of Odds - I would link to it, but the site contains affiliate links to casinos, which would violate the forum guidelines. The tables show the expected returns for each bet in a game played with eight decks in the shoe, which is common:

I assume you were only half-serious when you said that you were "addicted" to Baccarat. If not, I would strongly recommend getting this in check, because a genuine addiction to casino games can result in a big mess. Not trying to be preachy here, I'm just speaking from experience.

If there aren't any good movies about a gambling game with players beating it, chances are it's not beatable.

Live, Phil Ivey crushed casinos at baccarat. That's because the decks were imperfect and he was watching the corners of the cards and knew (or guessed) what cards were likely to come. He probably had other strategies - like folding his cards a certain way that could leave some kind of a mark. All of this was allowed in the casinos, at least at the time. Anyway, the casinos sued him and somehow won the case, even though Ivey didn't break any rules.

I'm almost certain you can't beat baccarat online, or any other game a part of poker or spots betting. Just play against dumb people and not against the rigged software and you will be fine

From my limited knowledge, there are no plays where the odds favour the player — is that not correct?

Another interesting thing to look at would be streaks — how long could a player sustain a string of wins such that it would be possible to win over a 3-, 4- or 5-hour session?

I find it hard to believe that any legal business venture would have a business model which is intentionally -EV.

The old joke is "I lose a dollar on every sale, but I make it up in volume".

The point though, is that to get people to actually play the game, there needs to be an expectation of winning. That expectation isn't there long-term with any casino game. Poker has a level of skill, and can be long term +EV. Same with sports betting. There are people that study the games enough to be able to profit long-term.
