hey there
I am about to buy myself a 32" tv (used as monitor for poker actually) and was wondering if there's some kind of recommended distance/angle so that I don't damage my vision eventually or something like that
thanks

Not sure about distance but have you also considered those gaming glasses? Can get them a pair at Game.co.uk for £39.99, lots of brands out there too.
Safe working practice says 2 feet or 50cm approximately. You won't damage your vision from an LCD screen either.
Hope that helped.

Mal.
Hi, it is more than just the distance.
Height, position etc all matter too.
At work, we follow this document:

Since this is Canada, it is also available in French
To ensure that workers have ergonomically sound workspaces.
Jealous about the 32" monitor, BTW

exactly, you could buy a 100inch TV if it has lower than 1920x1080 resolution than its worse than a 20.5inch monitor, and there arent any TVs with big resolutions except the new gen 4K but those are huge 80inch+ and expensive. only big resolution 30inch is the old dell, which is expensive, hook up 2 cheap 24inch if you need to tile 24+ tables.
don't stare and every while look at the distance like mountains sky etc.
the good distance is where you feel comfortable.
if you feel your eyes tired do palming, search on the net on iblindness.org forum for more info.doctors and others will sell you something that will be usefull/harmfull.
ye i had a 32 tv and regretted it, you cant even see the balance when tiling 12 tables, brought a 14intch moniter and that was much better
The ideal monitor distance is one that allows you to determine the difference between spades and clubs at the end of an 8 hour session without having to lean forward and squint

4 coloured deck
I get a huge difference from using LED monitor. I used a CRT monitor and after few hours my eyes are burning.
I just invest in a wireless mouse, keyboard and sound for my computer.
