If you're talking about Terry Pratchett, he's a writer. Not just any writer; he's a genius. Wrote 30+ books in the Discworld series, check it out, the style and humour are awesome (and they're all seperate stories btw, no need to read them all, although the first two go together and are, imo, the best)

BTW Douglas Adams is also a genius. He wrote a lot of the Doctor Who series back in the 80s but is best known for his Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy books. Which are astonishingly brilliantly funny.
If you've seen the movie, forget it... get the BBC television series and, of course, the books are outstanding. There are five books in the series, but the first three are awesome. Unless you're a big fan of bowls of petunia's, sperm whales or bad poetry.

Did you know that there is a sport called Ferret Legging originating from Yorkshire, England?
The sport is simple: they put 2 live (and angry) ferrets down your pants and then they tie your belt and the trousers around your ankles. So basically you have to keep those ferrets down your pants for as long as possible.
I wish I was making this up:
