Menu of the day
Deer goulash with mashed sweet potatoes
Can't say much about sweet potatoes (did I ever even have them?), but you cannot ever possibly go wrong with meat and potatoes.
Was good! The sweet potatoes tasted really sweet and the "Herbaria"-spice "Kürbiskönig" (= "pumpkin king") it tasted like Christmas.

Oh, that's what it means...
When I saw the picture, I first wondered what "Gool" means. Then I wondered if "Goo1" makes more sense.
And needless to say, I didn't care to look anything up.

What on earth is a "sports sausage"?![]()

Doesn't really matter as long as you can sport some sausage.
pffffffffffff..... "Sportwurst", what is the difference between a "Sportwurst" and an average "Wurst"?
![]()
I think it's meant to have less fat.

I think Sportwurst has racing stripes, and a more powerful engine
I had some phở last night with my grandson. There is a fantastic Vietnamese restaurant right near us.
If you haven't had it before, here is a description:

That is the description even if you have had it before
Looks yummy, Vorpal!
We had some left-overs and beef-sausages.
They are pretty low fat - so are they "Sportwurst"(sport-sausages)?
We had pumpkin soup twice this past week.
I've not tried it as a schnitzel topping. I suspect it would not do well
Tried a new burger variation today. While the combination of bacon, cheddar and barbecue sauce is time-tested and true, I decided to use a layer of those little sticks of diced bacon instead of the more common bacon strips for this one. I also included some roasted onions.

Maybe I could try a version that includes both bacon strips and diced bacon some time. Bacon = Good.
Also, I deliberately walked past a crosswalk I wanted to take on my way to the store to avoid inconveniencing incoming cars, only to turn around and take it when all cars were gone. Does that make me Canadian?
