perhaps "cornered" is imprecise
I've seen mice in the cellar before, but finding a mouse in the bathroom would have me worried.
At least it should be safe from your cat once you turn the water on.

It's no big. I've no idea where the wee thing was originally. Mice here are frequent, since we live on the edge of green space on two sides.
Rats, though, are quite another matter.

"April weather" today, the mostly German phenomenon of playing 8-Game with weather conditions, typically in the month of April, but a little early in this case.
I experienced a light drizzle, proper rain, a bout of hail and some mostly cloudy weather with the occasional sunshine, but I heard that there was some sleet too, most likely while I was catching up on sleep this morning.
