Hello everyone!

I am new here, I saw many interesting blogs. I especially like those with challenges so I decided to set up my own challenge and keep track of it here

Before I write about the details of my challenge, I would like to point out that I am a part-time grinder as I have a regular job. I am a waiter in a local pub. That may sound awful, but I enjoy it as it is my type of place :f_drink: My shifts are not that hard even though sometimes I work till late at night. I should have 5-6 hours a day for poker. I prefer days when I have morning shifts. I come home, rest a bit and then I have the whole evening for grinding.

The other great thing is that I enjoy playing poker :f_thumbsup:

I started to play online a couple of years ago. I played some small cash and micro buy-in tournaments without a lot of success. Then I started exploring the game a bit and found out that many recreational players play Spin n Goes. I found some useful articles, videos, etc online and I tried them out. I started with 1eur buy-ins on Winamax Expresso and I had great results. I moved up a few limits and now I play 5 eur Expressos. And here comes the challenge! ♠_smile:

I want to grind out 30.000 games until the end of May. I know this can sound like an easy thing to do to many serious grinders here, but for me, it won't be that easy along with the regular job. The other part of the challenge will be to have over 65 CEV which means that I will have to play only 2-3 tables at once. I hope it will bring some nice profit too! :)

I will try to update this blog every 500 games. That means 60 updates are waiting for me here which is also pretty challenging. :f_ugly: The plan is to share my PT4 stats and some hands. Hands, I hope I will share in between regular updates. I am looking forward to hearing other players' opinions and their way of thinking.

So here is the 1st update:

-Games played: 0/30.000
-Chip EV: N/A
-Bankroll: 1.000 EUR

What kind of games do you normally play?
Cash Games? Sit-and-Go? MTTs?
Do you just play Hold'em or do you play any other variants?

If you're totally new to poker, I recommend reading our No Limit Hold'em lessons overview articles first.
That article leads you through the basics and beyond.
It is even recommended if you've played a while ♠_biggrin:

Hey, thank you! I will take a look. I play only Holdem Spin games. Sometimes I register for some SNG or MTT and play it along with 2 Spin and Goes. But this will probably have to wait because of the challenge :f_biggrin:

I will use this post to quickly update my progress after 2 shorter sessions:

-Games played: 79/30.000
-Chip EV: 56.15
-Starting Bankroll: 1.000 EUR
-Current bankroll: 1.090 EUR (+90 EUR)
-Graph: N/A

Today I have a day off at the pub, so I will try to play at least 80 more games. Next update I will post when I reach 500 games. Also, I will have to boost my status here so I can post graphs :f_ugly:

Hey a new update! I still didn't hit 500 games because I was trying games on WPN network as they have good rakeback. But traffic is not that good and the field is way easier on Winamax so I will stick where I am :f_biggrin:

I figured out that I can not play 3 tables at once, I am loosing focus pretty soon so I will try to 2table my challenge :f_ugly: I hope that after some time I will be ready to grind 3 tables and that my game wont suffer.

I am thinking about to try out cash games at new WPT poker room as I heard that games are very soft, and 1 cash table along 2 Expressos should be fine for me. These side cash games I wont calculate for challenges.

Can anyone tell me something about WPT games? I would appreciate any information.

Challenge update:

-Chip EV: 59.7
-Starting Bankroll: 1.000 EUR
-Current bankroll: 1.140 EUR (+140 EUR)

My short term plan is to hit Silver status until the end of the August, which means at least 260 more games. And then in September the plan is to hit Platinum status which will need at least 2.500 games played.

I also boosted my CEV per game a lot!

Not the best volume but I had lot of other work today.

I reached 500 games finally! That means that I also caught Silver status and I will kick off September with a better multiplier of points.

Challenge update:

-Current bankroll: 1.335 EUR (+335 EUR)

Overall I am not satisfied with my volume, but results are way above expected. I will keep 2-tabling to try to focus on every hand as much as I can.

Let's see what will September bring and let's catch that Platinum status.
