Most books nowadays seem to be written for tournament play
consensus here is that David Sklansky is the man to read for cashgames:
The Theory of Poker (Sklansky)
No Limit Hold'em: Theory and Practice (Sklansky/Miller)
Hold'em Poker for Advanced Players (Sklansky/Malmuth)
though I would also like to hear the opinions of some more experienced players on these books and others such as Harrington on Cashgames 1&2
Books are not really worth buying. "Professional no-limit holdem" by Mehta et al. was decent, but not a must buy. I was really disappointed by NL: Theory and Practice, some ok-ish examples but you really have to think about what he is talking about to not implement this into your game in a wrong way.
