What are the safest places to store poker bankroll?

In Canada we can deposit and withdraw to/from our bank accounts -- this may not be available to you.
So the safest place to keep it is in the bank. I maintain a separate account for this purpose.

Not all rooms allow this deposit/withdraw method though, so for those I use the MuchBetter app.

Strangely, Skrill and Neteller don't work in Canada.

I also have ecoPayz but haven't used it for poker in a long time.

Not sure that all of that helps much...

I'm from Brazil. Sadly here we can't use bank accounts to deposit and withdraw from poker sites. I really hope someday we're allowed to do so.

About muchbetter i think it's really the best option, but in the past i had like 400$ that i wanted to withdraw from pokerstars. But pokerstars has an withdrawal policy that only allows you to withdraw the money you deposited to the same method, but i wanted to use another one so i contacted support to block muchbetter in my account forever (probably the dumbest thing i did in my account), so i could withdrawal through another method. So i can't use anymore.

So my options are restricted to:
-Neteller
-Skrill
-Ecopayz
-Leave my whole bankroll on pokerstars.

I had the opposite problem.
I wanted to withdraw a small amount to MuchBetter, but to do that I had to withdraw a large amount to my bank account first.
That will mean I get hit with foreign exchange -- so I just left it for now.

I use Skrill for a few years without problems. When I withdraw from Pokerstars the money arrives immediately. And you can withdraw the money with the Skrillcard from an ATM.

Withdrawal fee is about 2%, so I want to look myself if EcoPayz is cheaper.

It is true that you first have to make a deposit from Skrill to Stars.

Never keep more money on a site than you need to play.
For NL25 I think $500 is enough.

Never keep your complete bankroll at one place.

What's wrong in keeping it at PokerStars? Enable 2way authentication and pin, and it is as safe (or even safer) as e-wallets.

If you don't use most of that bankroll, then any place where it can grow a little.

Skrill has the best rating at trustpilot site among poker ewallets, i didn't personally heard anybody complaining about problems either. But there are some reviews that are kind scary from the other ewallets especially ecopayz so i wanted to check how reliable these ewallets are nowadays.

I'm from Brazil, we can deposit and withdraw from our bank account, but there are so many taxes and fees that it's not very advantageous using this method. i'll give u a rough example: If i deposit direct from my bank account like 100$ USD only like 80$ will reach my stars account. If i want to withdraw from pokerstars to my bank account 100$ i will receive like 95$ bucks or less. So basically i lose a lot of money doing this kind of transaction here in my country.

I had a problem with another site on the past, suddendly one day they blocked my account and accused me of chip dumping and blocked my balance. I never did what they said and my money was lost. So now i prefer to be on the cautious side with these poker sites.

I have the same opinion as you, pokerstars is safer than most ewallets, and probably is the safest place to leave the bankroll if i cant put in a bank account. I'll probably just leave my money there.

The most common problem people have with e-wallets and poker sites is documentation.
The e-wallets and poker sites need to be able to to be certain that they are transferring money to the right person.

We have seen reports in these forums of people whose documentation had problems.

The trick is to get your documentation verified early

I agree that there is always the risk of account being blocked and money frozen. That rarely happens to anyone who doesn't do any shady stuff.

In most cases, when you use third party e-wallet to transfer money, they like to take their share. Otherwise it would be bad business. Either in direct fees, bad conversion rates or even both.

Good rule of thumb is to keep as much money in poker sites as you need for normal swings, and rest in somewhere more useful and safe. Like investment funds. But if you transfer money via e-wallets and poker site on daily basis, you will lose a lot in fees.
