Hello all ,

Presentation

Since 2011 I know and participate here at pokerstrategy. I had numerous blogs in Portuguese (it's my country) but unfortunately that community was completely abandoned ..so and considering that this community (english) is dynamic and I decided to create my blog here)

:f_thumbsup:

About me, senior 40's, married and have a full-time job.

Since I met him(poker) is my passion. (I've played everything as you can imagine, sit's, mtt's, cash) .

At the moment I decided to create this challenge "1 year until reaching and winning at NL 50"

some details about the challenge :

--> Started 01/06/2021 (already running)
--> Initial BRM = 400 Euros
--> Raising limits I must have 40 BI's. Merge limits I must have 35 BI's
--> see results only every 5K
--> Regular tables and/or zoom(snap/rush)
--> Minimum 30K hands per month
--> A % of Rakeback also counts

and that's it for the 1st post Let's GO !!

WAIT !!!:f_love::f_love::f_love:
and what about MTT's ???

Spoiler

I love to play Mtt's too..so i have an separete poker bank to that.I started with 100$ for Mtt's.But don't expected too much in that version because my bank management for the mtts almost doesn't exist..it's even for the fun .Some %of rakeback could be put in that too.

:f_thumbsup::f_thumbsup::f_thumbsup::f_thumbsup:

Hi aafrancis,
This sounds like an exciting challenge.

What limit will you be starting at?

Best of luck :gl:,

Hello my friends :)

1ªs Month of this challenge -> not Good , almost break-even with the Rakeback help ! :f_mad::f_mad::f_mad::f_mad:

BRM INITIAL = 400 Euros

HANDS played in June -> 30542
BRM June = -23 (on the tables) +25 (rakeback)
= 2 Euros up

BRM Actual= 402 Euros (+2 since begining)
TOTAL HANDS in challenge -> 30542

Not the best start.

--> see results only every 5K FAILED , next month i will try again (it's important for mental game)
--> Minimum 30K hands per month OK

Some adjustments for next month

I will start at NL5 and play 5K ..if up ...i will climb to NL10 (which my BRM as you can see allows)
I will try to play more volume at "regular" tables instead "Zoom's"
I'm from Portugal , at the moment i play on 888 and Pokerstars (with Spain, France players) but the volume are too small ..so in July i will try to play something on GG Poker .

While you doing a shot on a higher limit, how do you know when you have to step back, if you do not check your results more often than every 5k? I mean sometimes you can drop 5 BIs in 2-500 hands easily.

GL at the tables! :f_drink:

5K hands is just a single session -- maybe two, so it is likely you'd notice.
Early on, we were told not to be "results oriented" -- but the problem is, I pretty much always knew where I stood.
Also when doing a challenge, you are reporting results daily or weekly, and it is hard to ignore the results.

When playing though, it is definitely one hand at a time...

2 things to improve this week

-->improve my physical and mental performance, in order to play my A or B game longer on tables
-->range adjustments due to very high rake

I'd be interested to know what you conclude about that.
Another area of NLHE I get wrong is how to adjust my calling and 3Bet ranges if the open raiser is raising over a limper.

Cheers,
VS
