Hey. I'm in Vegas now and I played the first event on my schedule, the $1600 Venetian Deep Stack, on Thursday but I busted in level one. I will try to give some details of key/bust-out hands for these events for information and I would welcome any comments/suggestions.

The starting stack was 20k with 50/100 blinds. I started well and built up to around 24k before losing a flip with AK v 77 against a short stack which left me with around 16k. In my bust-out hand, UTG raised to 250, the button called and I called in the SB with 33. The flop was 9T3 rainbow. I check, the original raiser bet 300 and the button raised to 800. The UTG player seemed weak but I didn't want to call and give him a cheap card to hit a gutshot with hands like KJ/KQ. So I raised to 2300 and the button called. Turn was 4h which was a second heart on the board. With lots of draws out there I made a pot sized bet of 5800 and the button instantly shoved all-in for an extra 8k. The way he acted when he reluctantly called the flop made me think he was on a draw and didn't have a bigger set which meant I was still ahead. I called and he showed QhJh for a straight and flush draw and he hit his flush on the river to knock me out.

Next event on the schedule is the WSOP Event 12 on Tuesday.

I played Event 12 of the WSOP yesterday and busted in level 7. I lost most my chips early in level 1 when some genius American 4-bet shoved pre-flop with A9o in a spot where he had no fold equity. I was in good shape with pocket tens but then the flop was 997.

I built back up to starting stack and then got all-in five times with the best hand (with a better Ace) and split the pot every single time! I had AK vs AQ, AK vs AJ (twice), AQ v AT and AQ vs A8. On the positive side, at least I'm not losing with these hands as much anymore! I busted with TT v JT - Jack on the flop.

Next event is the Venetian deep stack tournament tomorrow.

I played the $1600 Venetian tournament today but unfortunately the cards just aren't falling my way at the moment. The starting stack was 20k and I was going well in Level 6 with 35k (average stack was 28k) but then I busted in a big pot which, if I'd won, would have made me one of the chip leaders. I was all-in on the flop with JJ against an aggressive player who called a large 3-bet shove for 90% of his stack with 45o on a board of 346. The 2 hit on the turn to complete his straight and knock me out.

Next up is the $1500 WSOP Event 18 on Saturday.

I played the $1500 WSOP Event 18 yesterday and had my best run in Vegas so far until I busted with another cooler at the end of the day. I had above average chips for the whole of the day and with 20% of the field remaining I had 30k. Then in level 10 I was involved in a 60k pot (average stack was 24k) when all-in pre flop with pocket kings against AJ. An ace hit on the turn.

In today's $1000 WSOP Event 20 I never really got going and was knocked out in level 3. I busted when behind with 88 v 99 so I don't even have a bad beat story to tell!

I don't have enough US dollars to buy into the $2500 event on Wednesday as I can't withdraw my money from PokerStars and I have a withdrawal limit when using my debit card in the ATM. Therefore I am going to have to cut this event from my schedule and I will return the stakers amount for this. I will still play Event 28 on Thursday.

I played the final tournament on the schedule, $1500 WSOP Event 28, yesterday and finally made it through to day 2 today. There were 349 players left out of 2500 starters by the end of the day. The top 270 get paid and I am shortish stack with 24k (average is 32k).

I ended up min cashing the final World Series event. I finished 199th out of 2500 for $3037. That's the end of the Vegas schedule now which ended up being frustrating and disappointing. I got my chips in ahead in lots of good spots during the trip and lost every time, but I guess that's poker. I am on my way back to NZ at the moment so I will work out how much I owe to the stakers in the next few days. Thanks for the staking.
