If he has the nuts (straight), there's no point for him to overshove like this.

I snap call this everyday specially at this limit.

If he has monster draw, then this is a semi-bluff, and he is staking this tournament on hitting, and you are staking yours on calling.

Not that I think it is really likely, but still...
You don't have to widen it much to be ahead, but you have to add quite a lot to be way ahead. This shove "polarizes" his range. He either has the monster draw or air -- or the nuts. Your choice -- and you chose. Wisely or not, you'll never know.

What I am less in agreement with is limping AA -- especially here.
Let's say BB has 9cJc
He folds, you get the blinds.
Let's say he has air, and his shove is "punishing limpers".
He has the perfect flop for it, and since he is OOP, he has "right of first bluff"
If you open raise preflop 3BB, he folds his air -- or his puny suited one-gapper, and you get the blinds.

This way, you not only do not get the blinds, you are out 1BB more than if you had just folded them preflop.

If you have QQ+ and all you get is the blinds, that sucks.
Premium hole cards only pay off when someone else has 2nd best hole cards and is willing to ride them to the grave. OK, sometime the flop helps, but w/ AA, the flop almost always helps THE OTHER GUY. If you flop another A it squelches the action. If anything except an A flops, it might not hit the opponent, but is sure as hell doesn't hit you.

As for me, I'm 2 out of 12 today, and I did not see AA once. in 400 hands, so what do I know?
