fold preflop -> you don't get setodds and 44s don't play that easy ip!
as played raise flop bigger or shove -> this minraise doesn't really make sense on this board since its going in anyway and you want to protect your hand!

hi coach

i have downloaded icm trainer to help me understand ranges..i am not doing so bad when it comes to % of fold n push in icm trainer..
but i am getting hard time to understand the concept of fold n push n ranges.
please lemme know how to go about it...

The concept isn't that hard I guess. Effectively you just can't open normally with your stack during this phase of the tournament (when there effectively is 10bb or less), so a shove is better.

For example: you have 10bb and get AKs in MP. Let's say you open with 2,2x bb and miss the flop totally. You have a problem sir because when you get called and the flop is like J98xx it's very likely villain hitted on that flop or has a draw.

When you just push, you don't have this problem. You will have a preflop situation in which most of the times you have the best hand. Then ofcourse winning this hand is another discussion.

I guess this is what you mean about the concept, if not, say so! :)

hey bud

well your explanation did help for sure.. but what i also would like to know is how do you know when to push or fold from different positions with our stack sizes and how do we put someone on ranges ???
