Hi everyone,

I am starting this blog mainly to motivate myself, and to have your opinions about alot of stuff. I will try to update this blog daily, although at the moment I don't have alot of free time (college and everything).

So here's a bit about myself:
I am 22 years old, architecture student and I live in Tunisia (I know that may surprise a bit), I speak french, english and arabic ofc.. I started out playing live games, just home games and I still do almost everyday, there are casinos in tunisia, but some stupid law say that tunisian citizens can't play in casino, hopefully it may be changed soon.
the first time I played online poker was 2010, played some freerolls, won few cents and ofc went broke, then discovered pokerstrategy, recieved the 50 starting capital on full tilt, and guess what ? I went broke in like a week then I started reading some articles, books, watching vids etc .. and won like 2 dollars and managed to grind up to 80$ playing nl2, nl5 and few sng and then we all know what happened to full tilt and to our money. then recieved 50$ on everest and went broke because I was playing terrible, really frustrated about my money on full tilt (it isn't much I know, but that's all I had) playing drunk at times, deasastreous BRM led to the inevitable: I went broke on everest poker too.

Now that's all ancient history :) at the moment I am playing on 888poker.
I'd like to explain first why I called this blog "no second chance"": for various reasons, there is no way that I can make another deposit on any poker room from my country, for economic mainly, you just can't exchange the local currency (tunisian dinar) for euro, dollar or any other currency, unless you are traveling (even so, you can't exchange more then 5000 euro I think) or a businessman (a wealthy businessman, and you have to have a reason for that too), it is impossible to make any kind of online purchase from tunisia too, unless you have an international visa card.
So in few words, if I go broke this time, I'm fucked.

So that's my main motivation, I have to make it this time, I am taking all my time to analyse my game, find leaks, eliminate them and just trying hard to become a better poker player.

earlier this week I managed to freeroll my way into 5 dollars and few cents. at the moment I have 66$ playing Full Ring NL2. I started using Holde'm manager when I had like 26 or 27$, and yes I never used any kind of tracker/hud until 3 days ago, I played 3086 hands (I deleted all hand history by mistake when I installed HM2, I played like 5k or 6k hands total on 888poker)

I am starting this blog hoping for reviews and critics from better players, so you guys feel free to post whatever comes across your mind :)
So here's what my graph looks like, I am playing a bit tighter then I used to on other rooms, and trying to be more agressif (not too agressif)

current bankroll: 66.97
vpip: 22.4
pfr: 14.2
3bet: 8.3

what do you guys think about those stats and the graph? (especially EV graph!) I am totally clueless about HM2, does my ev line means I am running good/lucky ?

so that's it for the intro, I will be posting some hands, thoughts and updates of my bankroll soon :)

your profits running above your expected EV line means you got lucky and won a few hands you were behind on and generally won most (or all) of the hands you were ahead on.

(uless you're opponent is drawing dead, your equity share is not 100%)

so in HM, pick the "hands" view, make sure you pick "ALL" and then sort by "Equity %" to see the hands that are driving the graph.

then take a look at your all in equity in the hands you won & lost.
if you see yourself winning a lot of hands as a (significant) underdog, you've been "lucky".

in my hands, the only "underdog" hand I won, I was at 49% (coin flip).
10 times I have gotten in at 30% or less, and lost every time.
when I was "ahead", I have not fared as well.
I've lost with 88.6%, 81.8%, 69.7%, 68.2%, 62.3%, and 60.2% equity.

not surprisingly, I am running about $20 under EV.

the important thing to review is not whether or not you are "lucky".
look for hands where you were a big underdog (whether or not you won or lost) and review them closely. you want to avoid these spots in the future.
obviously, being a big underdog is -EV in the longterm.

I wish you well on your "last chance".
study your hands and see what lessons are there.
sometimes (say KK vs AA) the hands play themselves.
but plenty of times there were warnings to lay it down and we ignored them.
even if you suck out, it's a bad spot to be in.

just checked it on HM, I won 5 out 15 times when my equity is 40% or lower, and I won most of my coin flips (between 40% and 60%) and won lost few 80%-90%.
I guess i'm just running good hope that continues :P

most of the pots I lose being a big underdog (<30%) seems to be JJ or QQ preflop, and 2 set over set (it's hard to get away from a set on the flop I think) and few other trash hands like JTo and KJ etc ...

I will be posting some hands here soon, I just have to figure out how

Hand Evaluations up to No Limit 0.05/0.10

then look around for some "copy hand history" and convert it, or some "copy hand history in forum format" in HM, or something. good luck

yes, you are supposed to go broke in set over set flops - no misplay there.
getting JJ or QQ in against AA or KK pre-flop is not bad, unless the villain is a rock who never raises or three bets.
then you would have had a warning.

sounds like you are playing pretty well.

you should review your (non all in) big hands (won or lost) after each session with an eye on how you could have won more or lost less.

quick session today before school, lost alot of hands where I was a big favorite but still in the green: +0.48 in 199 hands.
got AA and KK cracked by random hands, and lost AQ vs AT ai preflop, but who cares I am still winning
and I reached chrome status, although I just found out that 888poker rewards program is absolut crap :( so it means nothing appearantly

will update later tonight with some hands.

new bankroll: 67.45$

running insanely bad :( alot of bad beats and inevitable hands (ran QQ vs AA against the same LAG fish twice, and some other set over set, set vs str8 etc )
but I am trying to keep my A game, I rarely tilt, but I am loosing I start to play a bit looser without being aware of it. so I'm trying to play tighter and watch my vpip and pfr stats closely.

new bankroll : 54.55

what do you guys do when you run bad ? do you just quit to minimize the losses ?? or you try to keep A game and get even ??

took few shots at NL4 and NL6 today, tables looked really fishy so I thought I'd give it a try, run incredibely bad, loosing big pots where I was a big favourite against random hands, but managed to win few $ anyway

new Bankroll 77.06$

graph looking swingy, but it is going up

running at 39.58bb/100 at the moment

played some crazy hands on nl2 against a maniac who raised every hand to 10bb preflop and broke almost everyone at the table and put them on tilt, but I finally managed to take his 600bb called him with A high on the river for like 50bb and then got it all in pf against him with AA (he had KQ or KJ or sthing) for the rest of his money.

bankroll: 80,83$

I think people will be interested when I reach something, like a proper bankroll for NL10 maybe

but why does it have a dark aspect ^^?

quick session today, 218 hands played and and up few $$

new br: 85.25$

15$ short for NL4. it may be still early but I am thinking to keep grinding nl2 until I reach sufficient bankroll for NL6 (150$).

edit: just reached 7000 hands milestone with 39,94bb/100
vpip: 22.1
pfr: 13.7
I am working to reduce the gap between my vpip and pfr, looks like I am limping too much.

Graph starting to look steady, I like it 8$ short for NL4, so I will be moving up real soon If I keep running this way. I have alot of work for tommorow's school project, so I'll probably continue the grinding tommorow night.

current br: 92.05$

Keep on going the good stuff mate. I've always liked watching people's progressions and definetely will check your blog more often, especially given the fact that we currently play the same limit. Play well and good luck!

PS. Try to post converted hands here, the plain text is rather unreadable. Try weaktight or handconverter.com

thx mate :) your feedback, suggestions and critics are most welcome :)

So played few 800 NL4 hands today, but didn't do very good, I am down 2BI right now and running 10$ under ev :(
I just switched from FR to SH, so I am trying to adapt, not good enough though, I am feeling SH is very different, and players are definatly much better then NL2.

br: 85$

those type of hands have been giving me trouble lately, is it the right move to play this hand agressively on the flop ? considering that vilain is a tight player that might fold an overpair ?
