Turn: ($33) 8 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $24, BB raises to $60, Hero?

Villain was just some tagish player with regular stats (anon. tables).

My default strategy against turnraises is almost always to fold if I don't have any reads/stats that would suggest that villain bluff(semi)raises light or raises thinly for value and I think I might get exploited a bit in these spots.

So in this particular hand what villain really can raise for value would be one of the sets that is out on the board or some twopair-hand (87s, 75s), but that's about it, and then as a semibluff maybe some FDs. So without any reads would you call here, and if so on what river cards are you not calling?

I am also very curious to hear what you guys think about people's tendencies of raising ott as a bluff/semibluff on these stakes? Should we expect the average nl200 reg to pull out some moves ott without a particular dynamic going on in these kind of spots?

And if you guys play these anon. tables yourself you might have something useful to share?

I usually shove in this spot. Opponent has quite a lot of draws and he probably raises most of them (being OOP he cant hope too light riverbet from us when he hits and donking sucks:P)
I dont like calling too much, because we have no idea what card to be afraid of (possibly A, any spade, diamond, 9, 4, J; maybe 8).
We also lose value value vs other overpairs which he decided not to 3b and raises now.

Hello axelphoney,

You have to ask actually already on the turn what your line should look like. From how many worse hands do you get called? Do you ever see a REG paying you with a FD there? PPs?

What kind of reg are we against, is he capable of taking stabs on us cause the turn card is actually good to do that whilst we will fold a major of our range. Though I wouldn't say that people exploit you much on anon. tables cause they practically don't have any info on you either. :P

Though if we continue here as on the turn we have to ask what's the purpose of the shove? We are shoving into him and then what? He folds all his range what doesn't have us beat and which has us beat will continue. Therefore shoving turn wouldn't really make sense whilst I don't see him playing overpairs either this way which would Check/Raise for value.

Best Regards.

Care to elaborate? Why is this turn card a good for him to stab?

And are you advocating a call here in this particular hand without any further info against the guy? Assuming he doesn't raise light for value here KK = any onepair hand (8x etc.), so then we have to call pretty wide when faced with a raise in this spot.

Cause it's good for him to represent 2pairs & maybe even straights/sets aka which have a lot FE here vs your 2nd barreling range which is FD/backdoor-FD/overpairs, most of the range folds.

As said it depends on the guy, hard to say whilst I didn't have any hand with him and just have few reads. If I also had some dynamics it's an easy ship on the turn cause the guy may also even call-down loose or Check/Raise loose. Vs some we may ship, vs some if I expect the range to be wide which is Check/Raising I'd just allow him to bluff the river as well.

2barrel is good. I might 2barrel bigger because any hand he has will have a lot of equity, at minimum he has pr+gutshot, at max like pr+oesd+fd.

When he raises it's difficult to gauge his range exactly. Tight players never bluff there and you should fold. Crazy players raise pr+draw hands where you can shove for value.

Against unknown or average player I think you call and evaluate river. You have all fds/straighdraws in your turn bet/call range so you don't need to be afraid of a a bad river card at all.

Not too close actually, you can't fold turn without a read that he is nitty and you can jam turn without a read that he is crazy, so default call.
