Poker Stars $5.00 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players - View hand 2068982

SB: $13.19 - VPIP: 19, PFR: 14, 3B: 5, AF: 0,5, Hands: 42
Hero (BB): $12.21 - VPIP: 21, PFR: 16, 3B: 4, AF: 2,0, Hands: 86536
UTG: $9.25 - VPIP: 19, PFR: 13, 3B: 4, AF: 6,0, Hands: 54
MP: $5.00 - VPIP: 19, PFR: 17, 3B: 9, AF: 4,5, Hands: 154
CO: $6.44 - VPIP: 21, PFR: 17, 3B: 8, AF: 4,0, Hands: 78
BTN: $12.19 - VPIP: 40, PFR: 17, 3B: 3, AF: 1,5, Hands: 212

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is BB with J :club: T :club:
2 folds, CO raises to $0.20, BTN calls $0.20, SB calls $0.18, Hero calls $0.15

Flop: ($0.80) 9 :diamond: 4 :diamond: Q :diamond: (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.05, CO folds, BTN folds, SB raises to $0.40, Hero raises to $0.75, SB calls $0.35
Minbet=blocking bet here. Rarely will I see a raise on monotone board.
I wanted to represent a flush with the min3b.

Turn: ($2.30) 6 :club: (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $1.47, SB calls $1.47
again, representing the flush. After he only calls the flop 3b, I dont think he has a flush here. Or raises on monotone boards are generally flush?

River: ($5.24) 8 :spade: (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks
no weaker is going to call

Hey Imimba1,

I'm not a huge fan of your flop play. As a general rule people don't really mess around on these monotone boards. There is a decent chance SB has a made hand, possibly a set, sometimes Qx or baby flush.

I'd seriously just think about folding flop to a raise. Yes, you have oesd, but you only have 6 outs instead of 8, because K:d and 8:d may not be good. Even if you do hit your opponent is going to have a ton of possible river redraws. Any diamond or board pairing will kill your hand.

As played there may be value on the river. Sets will call, Qx might, and the better flushes your opponent is probably 4betting the flop with (if not all of them).
