After starting to watch the "Champions stand up one more time than the rest"-series I decided to start a blog and report about my progress. I am a 23 year old computer science student. I am playing poker since my regestration date but I always had one big problem. I switched poker variants like nobody else. Every week or so I was playing something different. From NL FR to PLO and HU SNGs. Everything. My best variant by far is NL 6 max and that's what I will concentrate on now. I will start on NL50 for a few k hands and then move up to NL100 because I have to BR for it but I haven't played much NL 6max in the past. I also will play Zoom because I love the fast action and the many hands on just 4 tables. One problem i had in the past was the volume. I would play just a few hundred hands when I was running good because I would just tell myself: "You are up x Buyins, enough for today." This is pretty stupid but that is the way I was thinking back then.
First of all I will write down the things that were asked in the video series:
Why I will join:
I never had any dedication in my life. I was just getting through everything without ever working hard for anything and so I have gotten so lazy that it is really hard for me to just do stuff. I also never had any real goals in my life. That has to change now! One other problem is my health. I am a little overweight and I always have been. Now I just have read about the paleo lifestyle and as a scientist myself it really makes sense to me. For the people who don't know about it here is a link: Click. I have adopted this lifestyle for like a week and I am feeling good.
Beliefs I will adopt:
- Champions stand up one more time than the rest
- I can achive whatever I want
- Life is too short to listen to others
My goals:
- Become fitter, adopt the paleo lifestyle completely
- Beating NL100 and moving up to NL200
- More Volume, minimum of 1k hands a day (NO excuses)
I will try to update daily. If you are interested in discussing hands and/or strategy you can just respond here or add me in the community tool for the skype id. In the next days I will watch part 2 and 3 of the series. But now I have to grind ![]()
And at the end of the post just a little bit of great music:
