CO is 31/25/3.1/29 vpip/pfr/af/wtsd over 200 hands. He does have a capping range in this spot, so im giving him a range thats something like

99-33, AJs-A2s, K6s+, Q8s+, J8s+, T8s+, 97s+, 87s, 76s, AJo-A5o, K8o+, Q9o+, J9o+, T9o

my 3b in the sb is a bit loose i think, but not silly loose i hope. So call or 3b in this spot? I have alot of outs and hes very aggressiv and the board is really wet, so i'de imagine hed raise alot of draws in this spot. The board doesnt hit my range very well but it doesnt hit his that well either...

Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero has J♣ 9♣

fold, CO raises to $0.50, fold, Hero raises to $0.75, fold, CO calls $0.25

Hero bets $0.25, CO calls $0.25

Hi!

Yes I totally like to 3bet here. You certainly need hands to balance your value range at this point and lower FDs are perfect for that. Vs this agro laggy guy Im certainly 3betting this.

Obviously depends on your pre-flop 3-bet range and the hands you think you can bet-3-bet for value but yeah this looks fine.

You have pretty decent equity when you're bluffing here and you will certainly have a bet/3/bet for value range so maybe something like this:

Although vs someone who caps, and thus has given his range away as weak here, you can more than likely easily B3B down to TT here, in which case you might even add JT(fd) to your bluff range as well

It'll be interesting to see your opponent's hand here in either case because this will give you a bit of insight into his game. That turn card should not give him any turn raising range at all so either he is playing a pure strategy approach on the flop (unlikely as you say he has a capping range) or, more likely, his turn raising range is going to be made up of hyper unlikely super-strong mades (i.e. turned sets) and bluffs (guess which one there are a lot more of :) )

His hand was K :heart:7  and i was actually surprised to see him c/c c/r with that hand cause most players at this stake usually raises a hand like that on the flop in this spot...

His play is actually very good

If he rasises on the flop in position he over-rep's the strength of his range vs your 3-bet and also leaves his calling range (of which he has to have a lot) in a mess on the flop because it's so weak you can pretty much auto-2-barrell him profitably. If he's out of position I would have expected a x/r as most players are more likely to check turn IP than OOP especially in 3-bet pots.

Now he also could be thinking "lol low board I'll raise vs his AK on the turn" I don't know but whether by accident or design this hand was played pretty much bang on by both players. (I'm assuming you 3-bet turn and he called you down)

yes, i 3b he called down, he won :f_frown: river was an 8 non suited. So there was a 4straight out there. Is it ok to bet out the river then? kinda thought, well I cant win by checking, so was going for a b/f on the river, he called down... i think he had enough fd in his range to make the bet on the river ok even though all fives got there.

I don't mind 3betting as well but it depends on how capable he is to even come over the top with his draws and cap the Turn. Against a super aggressive guy, i'd rather not 3bet and just play my equity. GTO wise its not correct but against a guy who doesn't give a f. about gto and just plays schematically , you should just decide whats the best play in the vacuum, leaving the whole game plan thing more unconsidered. But though it's certainly ok to 3bet. especially if your opponent is capable of bluffraising with Qx and Kx, which might be possible for some laggy guys.

if boomer rightly said it's not good to split his range in a flopraising-range and a flopcalling range. if you do so, you're becoming really weak on the turn and you cannot represent that much mediocre hands like this one and you're becoming too polarized and easy to play. So i'd prefer to call my entire range on the flop and decide on the turn. thats my gameplan and the gameplan of the majority of LHE guys. :)
