in life
Yeah, we humans like perfect scenarios, like math and statistics, but real life doesn't follow "perfect rules". And when luck is not on your side, you're f*cked. Welcome the everlasting downswing. Perfect scenarios do not represent the real world, we just want them to and need them to have arguments in our daily decision making.
Funny how depressing life is when you're smart enough to understand
Someone once said, "I believe in luck, and find that the better prepared I am, the more of it I have"
Or something like that.

This was on page 2:
"Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity." Seneca
It is hard for me to judge, though, since I've been incredibly lucky.
Cheers,

A smart man and an idiot were traveling along a road. Night came, they had to sleep, idiot goes to sleep in the middle of the road, the smart one goes off road under a tree. A car passes by, avoids the idiot on the road and slides into the smart man.
about luck:
Luck is a word that humans created and that is different for every individual.
Things in life just happen, no reason needed, we just interpret them afterwards in means of chance.
We might be holding on to this reasoning to prevent us from loosing our minds due to the randomness of life.
Discipline little grasshopper is the most important thing in poker and many other things.
