Lesson 3

Hey genia2q

Sorry I just had a go at tidying up the post a tad since it hurt my eyes :) I changed the format of the hand to plain text since it was really hard to decipher quickly what happened in the hand and I also deleted the second hand since it was identical to the first.

Regards,
Luke

Hey Luke,

Thanks for getting back to me. Please let me know if I'm doing my homework ok and if I have to re-do any of my lessons again. When will it be marked? Is it possible I can carry on with Lesson 5?

I tried to attend a coach session and I have not been successful to find the name of the coach in pokerstars. I have seen the videos and I tried to follow exactly what it said how to find the coach session but I cant find it. I will try again to find it.

Hey genia2q

Your posts will be marked in the coming days by the course coach, sorry for the delay. In future can I suggest that each subsequent homework you do, you post it in this thread please. It makes it easier for the coach to just come back to this thread and also makes it easier for you to track everything too :)

You don't need to worry about the coaches name in pokerstars, just make sure that the time on the coaching session is the same as your time and then click the link when coaching is active. In the popup there should be a few links at the top that take you to the coaches screen so you can watch from there.
If you have anymore questions fire away.

Luke

Use this http://www.handconverter.com/

And make sure you convert it to plain text or something similar since there is no option to convert it to pokerstrategy.com output

Part of Lesson 5 Homework
Question 1: Post a hand for evaluation where you have based your decisions on the stats of your opponents. (Post your hand in the Hand evaluation board, and provide a link to your hand in your private thread.)

Answer 1:

Poker Stars 450+50 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t25/t50 Blinds - 4 players - http://www.handconverter.com/hands/2435977
The DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

Hero (BB): t1855 37.10 BBs
CO: t1590 31.80 BBs
BTN: t1255 25.10 BBs
SB: t1300 26 BBs

Pre Flop: (t75) Hero is BB with Td Th
2 folds, SB calls t25, Hero raises to t150, SB calls t100

Flop: (t300) 9c 7d Ks (2 players)
SB bets t400, Hero calls t400

Turn: (t1100) 9s (2 players)
SB bets t50, Hero raises to t1305 all in, SB calls t700 all in

River: (t2600) Ts (2 players - 2 are all in)
Final Pot: t2600

Hero shows Td Th (a full house, Tens full of Nines)
SB shows 9h Kh (a full house, Nines full of Kings)
Hero wins t2600

My (Hero) Equity: 74.37% - SB Equity: 25.63% that shows that Hero has a very strong hand. I went all-in on the Turn hoping that I would get a Full House on the River Card.

Lesson 5 Homework
Question 1: Post a hand for evaluation where you have based your decisions on the stats of your opponents. (Post your hand in the Hand evaluation board, and provide a link to your hand in your private thread.)

Answer 1: I have already post my hand for evaluation: Link- Poker Stars 450+50 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t25/t50 Blinds - 4 players - http://www.handconverter.com/hands/2435977

Question 2: Evaluate one of the hands submitted by other members. (Choose a hand from the Hand evaluation board and post your own evaluation in the thread. Post a link to the hand you have evaluated in your private thread. You can evaluate as many hands as you want, but try to choose hands not yet evaluated by other users first.)

Answer 2: NL5 Zoom FR | 73o in BB

NL5 Zoom FR | AQo in BB

Question 3: Consider the following situation:

$10 NL Hold'em (7-handed)

Stacks & Stats:
UTG ($10)
MP ($8)
MP2 ($9)
CO ($10)
Hero($10)
SB ($10) (17/13/2.6/24/1212) [VPIP/PFR/AF/WTS/Hands]
BB ($10) (27/9/2.0/29/333) [VPIP/PFR/AF/WTS/Hands]

Preflop: Hero is BU with 6Diamond , 7Diamond
4 folds, Hero raises to $0.40, SB calls $0.40, BB calls $0.40

Flop: ($1.20) 3Diamond , 3Heart , TDiamond (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($1.20) JDiamond (3 players)
SB bets $1.00, BB calls $1.00, Hero...

What action would you take, and why?

Answer 3: Knowing that I have Equity: 38.52% a small Flash Draw, I would just call and see the River Card as the SB Equity: 30.74% and BB Equity: 30.74% but I would be worried that the SB or the BB could end up with a Full House as there is a pair on the Flop which could be a problem.

Question 4: Consider the following situation:

$10 NL Hold'em (8-handed)

Stacks & Stats
UTG ($8)
MP ($10)
MP2 ($9)
MP3 ($6)
Hero ($10)
BU ($10) (25/21/3.8/26/1250) [VPIP/PFR/AF/WTS/Hands]
SB ($10)
BB ($10)

Preflop: Hero is CO with JHeart , JSpade
4 folds, Hero raises to $0.40, BU 3-bets to $1.30, 2 folds, Hero calls $1.30

Flop: ($2.75) 6Heart , 9Spade , TClub (2 players)
Hero...

What action would you take, and why?

Hero equity: 77.60% - BU: 22.40% I would re-raise as I have a stronger hand.

BB checks, MP3 checks, CO checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($4.10) QClub (4 players)
BB bets $2.05, 2 folds, Hero...?

What action would you take, and why?

Answer 3: Hero has equity 87.97% with two pairs (strong hand), BB has 12.03% equity (week hand). I would slow play and raise pot size ($4.00) on the Turn and then I see on the River and I'll wait to see what BB actions are, if he checks or bets I will review my hand and if its still in my favour I would raise ($10.00).
