140 hands isn't a ton but with a 2% 3-bet facing a 4-bet is pretty scary. I can't see him 4-betting AK or any smaller pair than jacks. He takes a really weird line check raising the flop small so unless you have some aggressive history with him I think he probably has a monster. I would probably just fold pre but I'd like to hear what others would do :f_smile:

Your session stats would probably help gauge whether or not he's capable of doing this semi-light.

Edit: I'm with la55i where I don't usually 3-bet JJ in position but some people might :f_tongue:

Confusing, topic says NL5 but this is really NL2.. Had to rethink this a couple of times :f_biggrin:

For me this hand is just a call MPvsBTN. When short stack BB cold 4bets I think we can consider folding. OTF he check raises small so it is pretty clear that he has a better hand and is willing to go broke, in my opinion.

I do not see a reason to 3 bet here preflop. There is no reason to call the raise too.
On flop we can fold to the xr.

PF H has reraised from the BTN. BB 4bets. H cannot profitably call for the implied odds are to small for setmining.

Sorry, unfortunately, there isn't a NL2 on the scroll the lowest one is NL5 that's maybe come out the fact that the limits are not so particular too different to each other?

Btw, sorry about that! :)

Interesting.
I would not 3bet pre, but call. That said, is easy to see that I m folding against BB raise (just playing for set mine if MP also calls).

No reason to 3-bet pre. But if you do, you definitely need to fold to the 4-bet. As played, fold flop.

This, and the X-R flop is just an overplayed AA who doesn't understand you might call streets all in with JJ but can get away from the overstrong show of force.

I really dont think so. I could be as much winner at NL5 just like I was in NL2 without changing my game. Bunch of fishes in both, and they play equally bad.

Look, nl2 is the very beginning, there are a ton of unthinkg players. Some play for fun, some dream to become sharks...
On nl5 there are players that moved a level up. The difference betweeen nl2 and nl5 is way much bigger than the difference between nl5 and nl10. There you cannot change much and be winning.

I must ask you all - why are you not 3 betting jacks from btn vs MP? MP even has only 92.5bb stack so he is likely A bad player.

Personally I always 3bet jacks here.

As played otf villains c/r looks super weird because he did not cbet on this board. But I dont know how nl2 villains are thinking

I could not fold on this flop becouse of villains strange line. But dont listen to me.

To 3B Jj is a bit too lose for me.
Look at this defending range:
MP2 47.90% 46.91% 0.98% JdJh
MP3 52.10% 51.12% 0.98% TT+, AJs+, KQs, AQo+

It may not be exactly the same as the above, but we do not have enough for a value 3b.

Hmm okay. But we have position.

Its close between 3betting and flatting.

On the hand op posted i would 3bet becouse MP does not have 100bb stack.

Mabye against some one else It is better to flat.

Thanks for showing that equity chart. I hate it when every one says do not 3bet here but no one tells why not to 3bet.

Well, we will be IP but not knowing what to do on Axx, Kxx, Qxx flops as with the 3 bet we narrow villain's range...

No, its not.
Many fishes not even start at NL2, but NL5 cause they think 2 dollars are too low.
I played in both limits and can say that a solid game in one is still a winner in the other.
