I like the idea of raising the turn.
As played, fold river.

Maybe a raise on turn. I think I also played a call on turn
As played for me also a fold on the overbet on the river
Flush and straits!

Turn raise sounds good. As played I think we have to fold OTR. Villain is a fish and flushes and straights are possible.

Why raise turn?

Yes, but the particular holding 87 is to me much more likely than T8-type of hands taken together. What I mean is that the 7♦: didn't change the board that much. Is he playing flop with two diamonds that way?

The "draw part" of his range is too shady for me to base a decision on. The 9x, x > T part is still there and arguable bigger. The possible presence overpairs means neither nay or jay for raising.

I don't mind your play (raising the turn is an option as well). As played, I'd probably call. He seems pretty fishy in general.

I prefer to raise this hand otf as he can still call with his draws + he is more likely to make mistakes with his pairs like JJ/TT as there is not yet overcards to his pair.

As played I'm folding the river.

Raising flop gives up what we have and Overpairs will fold.

Raising on the turn then does not? Imo turn raise is stronger than flop raise.

We could raise overpairs, sets and maybe 89 OTF and draws,sets and overpairs OTT. Maybe turn raise is a bit more disguised because we have more draws there. I prefer raising turn instead of flop mainly because we don't have to protect our hand so much OTF and just calling might get us more value. Villain will fold more to raises on such a dry flop. But imo you are right about that turn raises are generally stronger than flop raises.
