Straights 9J, lower flush. Not sure how agresive he is postflop.

Then count how many nut hands (A♠:x:spade: ) and how many other combos there are. Don't overcount 9x. Just because he can technically have e.g. 9♦:2♣:, he isn't necessarily going to play it this way, but he may very well play A♠:x:spade: this way. You have a river call. Not nearly a raise.

89s, 9Ts, 9Js,not many lower flushes, maybe 56s 67, 78, vs about 10 or less combos of suited aces.

But to a shove he probobly folds all his straght combos except maybe J 9. Yep you are right shoving is realy bad here.

We should call the raise and make a note. You can shove with nuts to make all weaker call. :)

I also feel that it's better to just call his river raise. I don't see him payig us off with a straight or worse flush.

I agree that you should just call villain's raise.

You first bet for value, ok. Then villain raises, that means he probably has a strong hand, maybe stronger than yours. I don't think you can shove for value here, since weaker hands would be afraid to call, and it's possible that he has a stronger hand. You also can't shove as a bluff, since stronger hands would never fold (maybe K♠x:spade: but very unlikely). The only option left would be to call or fold... I think we have good equity to call since villain's raise wasn't that big.

When the flush completes I don't expect villain to raise with straights very often, so he most likely has a flush. Do you think he would raise you OTR with 9high flush? I would just call his raise and take a note.

yea, I think he should raise 9 high flush there. If he's not raising 9 high flush there, then we should fold to a raise?

Villain is able to close the action. There are 4 bigger spades out there. I think raising with a low flush here would be a bad strategy.
If we think that villain usually doesn't raise with 9 high flush, it doesn't mean we have to fold here. His raise size is so small that we have to win this 20% of the time to call profitably.

Villains line is strong and his range crushes us very often. We can still add some weak flushes and straights into his range because they might be there. That way we get that 20% equity that we need. But to make your 3bet shove profitable, the amount of bad hands in his range would have to be huge.

We do not need to fold if we think he will raise with higher flush as we need to be good here only 33% of the time. There are more hands in his range as we need to have the story from preflop on and not from river on.

La55i, how do you get 20%? I calculated the following: 35bb/(19.3+15.6+35+35)=33% or is something wrong with this calculation?

When we already bet and villain raised to 35, we have to call only 19.4
So when the formula is bot/(pot+bet), I think it should be 19.4/(19.3+15.6+35+19.3)=21%

I'm not 100% sure about this.

That's correct. Except you have 19.3 twice on the denominator, one of them should be 19.4. So it's 19.4/(19.3+15.6+35+19.4)

Ah yes you're right. He isn't raising 35bb more but to 35bb. Good, thanks.
