I would 3bet bigger 8 to 9 bb, I would most likely to shove like you did with a short stack too.

3bet bigger indeed, this is a big mistake.
Just call OTT you have more or less a bluffcatch here (but a good one).

The pre-flop 3bet sizing is indeed bad. Now he will call with his entire pre-flop range.
In position a 3bet of like 8-9bb seems big enough. Against a decent player calling him down is most likely better. Than you keep his weaker hands in his range. Now you get only action of better if you shove the turn.

Yea 3bet larger, to 9bb.
